LG’s unusual 16:18 monitor is the DualUp 28MQ780-B: a 27.6-inch Nano IPS display with a 2560 × 2880 resolution. Instead of giving you the wide layout of a typical monitor, it adds screen height for working with vertically arranged windows. LG’s current US product page still lists the model, but says price and availability vary.
What makes LG’s 16:18 monitor unusual?
Most desktop monitors are wider than they are tall. The DualUp’s 16:18 aspect ratio flips that emphasis: its 2560 × 2880 panel is almost square, but taller than it is wide. LG described the display area as equivalent to stacking two 21.5-inch displays; that is LG’s comparison, not an independent measurement of usable workspace.
The extra vertical space may suit tasks that involve long documents, code, timelines, or multiple windows arranged one above another. LG also supports picture-by-picture, which lets compatible video sources appear in separate sections of the screen. The format is less naturally suited to content designed to fill a conventional widescreen display, so consider the shape of your everyday work before choosing it.

Connectivity, split-screen use, and stand
The USB-C port can carry a DisplayPort video signal and deliver up to 90W of power, making a one-cable laptop setup possible when the computer supports the relevant functions. The monitor also has two HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort, and a USB hub. Picture-by-picture can be useful when connecting two sources, but the feature does not itself guarantee that every source or window arrangement will suit your workflow.
The included Ergo stand is a defining part of the design. LG’s Singapore specifications list height, extension, swivel, tilt, and rotation adjustment, while its US announcement describes an adjustable clamp stand. Check the desk edge and mounting arrangement before buying, particularly if your desk cannot accept a clamp.

Which model and price should you look for?
The monitor in this announcement is the 28MQ780; the US product-page suffix is 28MQ780-B. LG’s current US page directs visitors to “Find a Retailer” and says price and availability vary, so it does not establish a current street price or stock status.

Do not assume other LG 16:18 models share the 28MQ780’s specifications. LG’s 28BQ750-C is a distinct 27.6-inch, 2560 × 2880, 16:18 IPS monitor with USB-C at 90W and a conventional tilt/height/swivel stand; its listed warranty and included cables apply to that model, not automatically to the 28MQ780. LG’s 28BQ780-B sheet lists 96W USB-C and an Ergo+ stand, but its detail table conflicts with its description on aspect ratio, so it is not a reliable basis for a direct comparison.

- Confirm the exact model and regional suffix; verify price, stock, seller, and warranty with the retailer.
- Check that your computer’s USB-C port supports video output if you want to connect over USB-C, and that the monitor’s up-to-90W delivery meets your laptop’s needs.
- Make sure a 16:18 layout and 60 Hz refresh rate match your work and viewing preferences.
- Check your desk edge and available space for the clamp-style stand, and confirm the included accessories for the specific regional listing.
LG’s US product page identifies the 28MQ780-B and its retailer route at LG 28MQ780-B. LG’s dated US announcement provides its original specifications and launch price at LG’s June 2022 announcement; the Singapore release provides regional specifications and launch details at LG Singapore’s DualUp release.
