LG’s UltraGear OLED GX7 pairs a 27-inch QHD mode running at up to 540Hz with an HD mode running at up to 720Hz. The 720Hz figure does not apply at QHD: the monitor trades resolution for refresh rate when switching to its higher-speed mode.
What the 540Hz and 720Hz figures mean
LG’s U.S. product page lists two display modes for the 27GX790B-B: QHD at 540Hz and HD at 720Hz. In practical terms, choose QHD when you want the higher resolution, or HD when the priority is the highest listed refresh rate. LG Display calls the switching technology Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR), which allows users to switch between resolution and refresh-rate modes.
These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results. The available official information does not establish how the monitor performs in a comparison with competing displays.

LG describes the GX7 as a fourth-generation OLED display, while LG Display identifies the panel technology as Tandem WOLED. LG’s product page also lists a 0.02ms GtG response time, DisplayPort 2.1, NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, ClearMR 21000, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500. These are manufacturer specifications and compatibility or certification claims; they should not be read as independent measurements of motion clarity or image quality.
