LG’s 2025 gram announcement covered several different laptops—not one configuration combining every headline feature. The gram Pro 16Z90TS is the Lunar Lake model with local AI and a variable-refresh-rate (VRR) LCD; other gram Pro models pair different processors, displays, or graphics. LG also described a separate cloud-AI option. Here’s how to tell the models apart and what the announced specifications do—and do not—say about gaming.
Which 2025 LG gram has Lunar Lake?
LG identified the gram Pro 16Z90TS as a Lunar Lake model and the first Copilot+ PC in the gram series. Its announced display is a 16-inch WQXGA LCD with 31–144Hz VRR. LG also described the Core Ultra V-Series as Lunar Lake and the H-Series as Arrow Lake in its 2025 lineup announcement. Those processor families belong to different configurations; the lineup announcement does not mean every 2025 gram uses Lunar Lake. LG’s announcement identifies the product range and model details.
LG’s U.S. specification page is a useful reference when checking a particular configuration, but availability and component options can vary by region and exact SKU. Check the corresponding LG model specifications rather than assuming all listings for a model family are identical.
What’s different between local AI and cloud AI?
gram chat On-Device
LG says gram chat On-Device processes data locally without a network connection. It uses a small language model derived from LG AI Research’s EXAONE large language model. LG also described Time Travel, a feature for revisiting recently used web pages, documents, videos, and audio. These are manufacturer descriptions of features, not independent evaluations of their accuracy or usefulness.

gram chat Cloud
gram chat Cloud is a separate, cloud-based option. LG described it as powered by GPT-4o and integrated with calendar and email services. The original announcement said the service would be free for the first year; that was an announcement-period offer, not confirmation of current terms. LG’s December 2024 announcement describes both modes.
LG executive YS Lee characterized the products this way: “2025 LG gram products, featuring advanced gram AI, are powerful, portable productivity companions that can understand users’ needs, intelligently utilize relevant information, and enhance workflow.” That is LG’s positioning, not a measured performance result.
Does the 2025 LG gram support VRR?
Some announced models do, but the panel and refresh range depend on the model. LG specified 31–144Hz VRR for the LCDs in the gram Pro 16Z90TS and initial gram Pro 17Z90TR, and 48–120Hz VRR for the OLED in the gram Pro 2-in-1 16T90TP. VRR lets a compatible display vary its refresh rate; it does not by itself show how many frames a game will run at or establish that a laptop is suitable for demanding games.

| Model/configuration | Announced display and VRR | Other relevant details |
|---|---|---|
| gram Pro 16Z90TS | 16-inch WQXGA LCD; 31–144Hz VRR | Lunar Lake; LG called it the first Copilot+ PC in the gram series. LG’s December 2024 announcement also gave a thickness of 0.49 inches and weight of 2.73 pounds. |
| gram Pro 17Z90TR, initial announcement | 17-inch WQXGA LCD; 31–144Hz VRR | Arrow Lake CPU and RTX 4050 graphics in the original announcement. |
| gram Pro 16T90TP 2-in-1 | 16-inch OLED; 48–120Hz VRR | LG’s specification sheet lists Intel Core Ultra H-series processor options, Intel Arc graphics, and 16GB or 32GB memory configurations. This is an integrated-graphics convertible, not the RTX-equipped configuration. |
| gram Pro 16Z90TR / 17Z90TR, July 2025 update | Not stated in the July update cited here | LG announced Intel Core Ultra 9 (Series 2) or Ultra 7 processors, RTX 5050 graphics, 32GB memory, and a 2TB SSD for these models. |
The display figures above are LG-published specifications, not independent measurements. Consult the matching model sheet for the exact unit being considered: LG gram Pro 2-in-1 16T90TP specification sheet. Regional configurations may differ.
Can you game on the 2025 LG gram?
The specifications show that gaming configurations exist, including announced gram Pro models with discrete RTX graphics. But VRR is a screen feature, not a gaming benchmark: it cannot establish game frame rates, thermal behavior, or performance at a chosen resolution and quality setting. LG’s announcement and specification materials do not provide independent gaming benchmarks for these models.
For a gaming decision, compare the exact SKU’s GPU, processor, display, memory, and storage with the games and settings you care about. In particular, do not treat the 16T90TP’s integrated Intel Arc graphics as equivalent to the discrete RTX configuration, or infer real-world performance from the VRR range alone.

Does the gram Pro have an RTX 4050 or RTX 5050?
Both GPUs appear in LG announcements, but they refer to different configurations and announcement dates. The December 2024 announcement named an RTX 4050 for the gram Pro 17Z90TR. On July 16, 2025, LG announced updated 16Z90TR and 17Z90TR models with RTX 5050 graphics, Core Ultra 9 (Series 2) or Ultra 7 processors, 32GB memory, and a 2TB SSD. Do not combine those details into one universal specification for either model name.
LG said the later models would be available starting July 16, 2025, at LG.com and later through authorized retailers. That launch statement does not establish current stock or price. LG also claimed up to 27 hours of video playback for those later configurations; it is a manufacturer claim, not an independent battery test. LG’s July 2025 RTX 5050 announcement covers that update.
How to choose the right model
Compare the complete model number and regional SKU, not just “gram Pro.” Before buying, check:
- Processor: confirm whether the exact configuration uses a V-Series Lunar Lake or H-Series Arrow Lake processor.
- Graphics: distinguish integrated graphics from the discrete RTX 4050 or RTX 5050 configurations.
- Display: confirm LCD or OLED, screen size, and the stated VRR range.
- Memory and storage: verify the installed configuration rather than assuming a family-wide specification.
- Weight and battery: use figures tied to the exact model and treat manufacturer battery claims as claims, not test results.
- Region and listing: match the retailer’s full SKU against the relevant LG specification sheet.
LG’s U.S. February 2025 release included launch prices and a preorder offer scheduled for February 24 to March 23, 2025; those are historical terms, not current pricing. See LG’s U.S. launch announcement for that period’s details, and check current listings for present availability and price.
