The LG UltraFine Evo 32U990A is a reported 32-inch 6K professional monitor, not a high-refresh gaming display. A September 30, 2025 report lists its refresh rate at 60 Hz and describes a high-resolution Nano IPS panel, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, and 96 W USB-C power delivery. Those are launch-report specifications, not independent test results or confirmation of current availability.
What the LG UltraFine Evo 32U990A is
HotHardware reported the 32U990A as a 32-inch Nano IPS monitor with a 6144 × 3456 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 224 pixels per inch. The report called it a 6K display. At this resolution, the monitor is aimed at users who want a large, detailed desktop for professional or productivity work; the cited report does not establish a particular workflow advantage through hands-on testing.
The word “first” in the launch headline is HotHardware’s framing. The available source does not independently establish a broader market-first claim, so it is safer to identify the model by its reported specifications than to treat that superlative as settled fact.

Refresh rate: a 6K workspace, not a refresh-rate showcase
The report lists a 60 Hz refresh rate. That positions the 32U990A around resolution and connectivity rather than the high refresh rates sought for fast-motion gaming. Refresh rate alone also does not establish motion clarity or input lag; the cited source contains no independent motion testing.

Ports, power, and daisy-chaining
HotHardware’s reported port list includes two Thunderbolt 5 ports, three USB-C ports, DisplayPort 2.1, and HDMI 2.1. The report also lists USB-C Power Delivery up to 96 W and says the display can daisy-chain 6K displays over Thunderbolt 5.
For a laptop setup, 96 W power delivery may let the monitor supply power while carrying a display connection, subject to the computer’s requirements and the monitor’s actual implementation. The source does not document port-by-port capabilities, so check LG’s current manual for which port supports charging, video input, or daisy-chaining before planning a specific desk setup. HotHardware said the included Thunderbolt 5 cable was recommended for the described daisy-chain configuration.
Reported image specifications—and what they do not prove
The report lists a 2000:1 contrast ratio, typical brightness of 450 nits, and DisplayHDR 600 certification. It also gives typical DCI-P3 coverage of 98% and estimates Adobe RGB coverage above 99.5%.

HotHardware said the described setup requires native Thunderbolt 5 or USB-C with DisplayPort 2.1. It listed Apple Silicon Macs running at least macOS Sequoia and Windows 11 PCs with Intel 12th Gen processors or later as minimum system requirements. These are launch-report claims; the cited source does not provide a tested list of computers or confirm compatibility against LG’s current documentation.
A USB-C connector’s shape does not guarantee that a computer supports the required video mode. Before purchasing, identify the exact computer model and port, then confirm its display-output capabilities and the monitor’s requirements in current LG documentation. If you need Thunderbolt 5 daisy-chaining, verify that the host and every relevant connection support that setup.
