If your LG TV won’t download an app, first check that the app is offered for your TV’s country, model and webOS version. Then confirm the TV is online, signed in to an LG Account, has the required User Agreements accepted, and has enough internal storage. A factory reset is a last resort because it removes installed apps and account settings.
First determine whether the app should be available
Before changing settings, search for the app in the LG Content Store on the TV. Availability varies by country, TV model and webOS version, so an app missing from the store may not be supported on that particular television rather than failing to install. Check the app’s supported webOS version as well. LG’s Content Store availability guide explains how to check apps for a TV’s location and model.
This distinction matters: if the app is not listed for your TV’s combination of region, model and software, repeating the download or resetting the TV will not make it compatible.

Check the TV’s internet connection
Make sure the TV is connected to the internet. LG supports both Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet connections. If downloads fail intermittently and you suspect an unstable Wi-Fi connection, testing Ethernet can help isolate the network as the cause; it will not fix account, region, storage or compatibility problems.

Verify LG Services Country
The selected LG Services Country should reflect where the TV is actually being used. LG says choosing “Other” or a different country can affect app installation. On TVs running webOS 6.0 or later, including 2021-and-later models, the general path is Settings → All Settings → General → System → Location → LG Services Country. On webOS 26 models, LG’s 2026 instructions place Location under System. Menu names and paths vary by model, region, language and software version, so identify your TV’s model and webOS version if the path differs. Older TVs use different menus. Changing the country setting does not guarantee access to every region’s apps. LG notes that services may be limited when a TV is used outside the country where it was sold or was purchased overseas. Its FAQ puts the limitation plainly: “Apps and services are tied to the country where the TV was sold, so you may not be able to install apps meant for a different region.” Use the correct location setting rather than treating a region change as a way to bypass availability restrictions.

Sign in and accept the required agreements
Sign in to an LG Account from the user icon on the Home screen. LG says some apps may not be available to signed-out users. Also check that required User Agreements have been accepted; LG states these agreements are required to use apps.

The wording and location can differ on older webOS versions. LG’s User Agreements instructions cover the steps and network requirement.

Free internal storage if the TV reports it is full
If the TV says there is not enough space, delete apps you no longer use from the Home screen’s Edit App List. This is LG’s stated way to free internal storage for installation. The cited LG guidance does not establish an external drive as a way to expand app-installation storage.

If the app is supported and the connection, country, account, agreements and storage checks have not resolved the problem, consider Reset to Initial Settings using the instructions for your TV’s model and webOS version. A reset deletes account settings and installed apps, so you will need to set those up again. If the issue continues, contact LG Support with the TV model, webOS version and the app name.
