The LG gram Pro 16 makes a persuasive case for a large-screen Windows laptop that is unusually light to carry: documented configurations weigh about 1.2–1.24 kg. But “gram Pro 16” covers several generations and hardware tiers, so the exact model determines its screen, graphics, battery and price. It is a strong candidate for mobile productivity, not a proven market-wide “ultimate” laptop.
What makes the LG gram Pro 16 stand out?
Its appeal is the combination of a 16-inch display and a carry weight near 1.2 kg in the documented configurations. LG lists the 2024 16Z90SP integrated-graphics model at 1,199 g, while its 2025 16Z90TS weighs 1,239 g. Those figures make the portability proposition concrete, but they apply to specific models, not every laptop sold under the gram Pro 16 name.
LG’s regional 16Z90SP-A.AA78A9 product listing is one example of how the model code identifies a particular configuration. Check that code on the listing you intend to buy rather than relying on the family name alone.

Which generations and configurations are covered?
The name spans multiple generations. LG’s official material covers the 2024 16Z90SP and 2025 16Z90TS; TechRadar’s September 30, 2026 review discusses the 16Z90U and 16Z95U families. A specification from one generation should not be assumed to apply to another.

The 2026 review describes differences across configurations in processors, graphics, memory, storage and displays. It reports 2560×1600 touch IPS screens on some configurations and 2560×1800 non-touch IPS screens on others. Confirm the complete SKU and the regional listing for the unit you are considering; the family name alone does not establish whether a display is touch-enabled or which resolution it has.

What battery life can you expect?
TechRadar reported almost 17 hours for its reviewed 2026 unit in a PCMark 10 office-use battery test, with settings midway between performance and battery. Treat that as a result from that review’s test conditions, not a guarantee for every gram Pro 16 or every kind of work.

Is it powerful enough for your work?
There is no single answer for the entire product family. TechRadar’s 2026 review describes configurations with different processors and graphics, alongside variations in memory and storage. The 2024 16Z90SP battery specifications also distinguish integrated-graphics and discrete-graphics versions. Choose by the work you need the laptop to handle, and verify the installed hardware on the exact regional SKU; a model’s light weight does not establish its performance tier.
- For everyday mobile productivity, check the processor, memory and storage on the configuration you will actually buy.
- If your applications depend on graphics capability, confirm whether the SKU uses integrated or discrete graphics instead of inferring it from the product-family name.
- If screen interaction matters, verify both resolution and touch support; the reviewed 2026 configurations do not all share the same display type.
Is the LG gram Pro 16 worth the price?
That depends on whether its low carry weight and 16-inch screen justify the price of the particular configuration in your region. TechRadar described its reviewed higher-tier 2026 configuration as expensive and identified price as its main drawback. Its article gives inconsistent starting-price statements, so there is no reliable single starting figure to repeat here. Check the current regional listing and match its SKU to the specifications and any review you use.

How to decide whether it fits your needs
- Match the model code. Find the full SKU on the retailer or LG regional listing, then confirm whether it belongs to the 2024 16Z90SP, 2025 16Z90TS, or a later family.
- Check the essentials on that SKU. Verify weight, display resolution and touch support, processor, graphics, memory, storage and battery capacity. Do not transfer specifications between generations.
- Evaluate battery evidence by test type. Separate independent workload benchmarks from manufacturer playback claims, and check whether the settings and workload resemble your use.
- Compare the live regional price. Prices and available configurations vary; judge the price of the exact model rather than an unqualified family-level starting price.
- Compare alternatives only on equivalent terms. Use the same screen-size class, graphics needs, memory and storage, and a comparable battery-test workload. The available evidence here does not establish that the gram Pro 16 leads the wider Windows laptop market.
