LG and Dolby announced LG Sound Suite ahead of CES 2026, built around the H7 soundbar and Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. The system is designed to let users add wireless surround speakers and a subwoofer, with FlexConnect adapting audio to speaker placement and room layout. LG’s configuration counts describe possible combinations—not independent listening-test results—and changed after the initial announcement.
What is LG Sound Suite?
LG Sound Suite is a modular home-audio system comprising the H7 soundbar, M5 and M7 wireless surround speakers, and W7 wireless subwoofer. LG announced it on December 18, 2025, ahead of CES 2026. In the launch announcement, LG described a potential maximum home-theater configuration of 13.1.7 channels. That is a company-stated system capability, not a report of independent testing. The H7 soundbar
H7 is the system’s central soundbar and can lead a setup with any TV using HDMI, according to LG. That makes it the entry point for people who do not have a compatible LG television. Dolby describes H7 as the first soundbar system with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. Dolby’s FlexConnect overview

- M5 and M7: Wireless surround speakers that can be added to expand the system. LG also says they can operate as standalone Wi-Fi speakers, supporting playback up to 24-bit/96 kHz; this specification is LG’s claim. LG’s February 2026 update
- W7: The system’s wireless subwoofer, intended to add bass to a Sound Suite setup.
What Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is meant to do
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is designed to adapt wireless-speaker sound to the TV layout and listening position, giving users more flexibility in where they place speakers than a conventional fixed-layout approach. Dolby and LG present it as a way to accommodate real rooms, including speakers placed on shelves or in corners. That describes the technology’s intended operation; it does not establish that every placement or room will sound identical.
#1 Best Overall
- Simplified 5.1ch Dolby Atmos Setup: Enjoy immersive 4D sound with real Dolby Atmos and 5.1-channel audio. Five built-in speakers, including two side-firing drivers, create wide surround without rear speakers. Precision DSP ensures <0.5 ms latency for smooth, theater-like sound. Setup takes less than 1 minute.
- Voice Clarity Enhancement: VoiceMX technology uses advanced DSP algorithms to isolate and enhance vocal frequencies in real time. Dialogue remains crisp and easy to follow by separating speech from background effects and music, even at low volumes or during intense scenes.
- 300W Output with 6-Driver System: Featuring five precision-tuned full-range drivers and a dedicated wired wooden subwoofer, the system delivers up to 300W of peak power for bold, room-filling sound. With a frequency response of 45 Hz–18 kHz and a maximum SPL of 99 dB, it reproduces everything from subtle nuances to explosive cinematic effects.
- 18 mm High-Excursion Driver: Powered by BassMX technology, the wired wooden subwoofer features a 18 mm high-excursion driver, a 5.3L tuned cabinet, and a high-density magnetic circuit. This design delivers deeper, tighter bass with greater air displacement and enhanced low-frequency performance—bringing more realism to every scene.
- HDMI eARC for True Dolby Atmos: HDMI eARC supports up to 37 Mbps of bandwidth, unlocking the full potential of lossless Dolby Atmos 5.1-channel audio. Compared to standard ARC, eARC delivers richer surround effects and greater detail. CEC integration allows the TV and soundbar to work together with unified control.
LG adds its own Sound Follow feature, which uses ultra-wideband technology, Room Calibration Pro, and AI audio processing. LG says AI Sound Pro+ requires select LG TVs paired with H7. Those features are distinct from Dolby’s description of FlexConnect itself. LG’s launch announcement
How many configurations does LG Sound Suite support?
LG’s published configuration count changed between the launch announcement and a later update. The first count covered H7-led combinations; the newer release added a TV-led route and revised the H7 figure.

What to check before choosing a setup
- TV route: Decide whether H7 will connect by HDMI to your TV or whether you want a supported LG TV to lead the FlexConnect system.
- Compatibility: For TV-led use, confirm the exact TV model, firmware, and regional support rather than assuming all LG televisions qualify.
- Expansion: Consider whether you want only the soundbar or plan to add M5/M7 surround speakers and the W7 subwoofer.
- Room and placement: FlexConnect is intended to accommodate varied speaker positions, but the announcement does not establish identical results for every room.
- Evidence for comparisons: LG and Dolby’s announcement materials provide product capabilities, configuration counts, and launch pricing, but not independent comparative listening measurements. A sound-quality comparison with another system therefore cannot be settled from those materials alone.
