Yes—the reviewed Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Aura Edition is a strong everyday laptop for office work, study, travel and occasional photo editing. T3’s tested UK model, the 15ILL9 with an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, 32GB of memory and 1TB of storage, pairs smooth productivity with a sharp 120Hz touchscreen and useful ports. Its main compromises are battery life that is adequate rather than exceptional, a glossy reflective display, some chassis flex and limited gaming ability. These findings apply to that reviewed configuration, not every laptop sold as a Yoga Slim 7.
Which Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 did T3 review?
T3’s review covers the UK-specific Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Aura Edition, model 15ILL9. The tested configuration has an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. T3 describes the chip as part of Intel’s second-generation Core Ultra, or Lunar Lake, platform. The Yoga Slim 7 name also covers other model numbers and regional versions, so check the complete model number and specification before buying.
T3 reported 16GB or 32GB memory and 512GB or 1TB storage options for the family. The screen and processor may also differ by model; do not assume another Yoga Slim 7 has the tested unit’s panel or performance. T3 listed review-era prices of £1,399 in the UK and $1,399.99 for the closest US equivalent. Those are historical figures from its 2025 review, not current offers.

Is the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 good for students and office work?
Yes. T3 used the laptop as a primary work machine while traveling and found it handled everyday productivity and RAW photo files without difficulty. That makes the reviewed configuration a good fit for documents, browsing, video calls, streaming, study and occasional creative work. Its 32GB of memory is generous for those tasks, but buyers should confirm their chosen SKU rather than infer that amount from the family name.
The 15.3-inch IPS touchscreen is a notable advantage: it has a 2880 × 1800 resolution, a 19:10 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate and a reported 500-nit brightness. T3 praised the image’s sharpness and color. The glossy surface can reflect nearby lights and windows, however, so the display may be less comfortable in bright environments. Dolby Vision and DisplayHDR 400 are supported; HDR is off by default.

The aluminum top and bottom give the notebook a polished look, and its reported weight is 1.53 kg. Lenovo’s stated thickness is 13.9 mm; T3 notes that the measurement may not include the bottom rubber foot. This is a conventional laptop, not a 360-degree convertible. T3 also describes a softer typing feel, but noticed flex in the lid and deck. Keyboard backlighting sometimes switched off during use.
How good is the battery life?
In Chris Hall’s practical use, the laptop delivered more than six hours of working time and could cover much of a typical day of browsing and office tasks. This is reviewer experience, not a controlled battery test, and it does not establish a guaranteed runtime. Screen brightness and workload will affect how long a charge lasts.

T3 says endurance is improved over older Intel hardware but trails some competitors, including the MacBook Air in the reviewer’s comparison. The review’s comparison was not a controlled head-to-head benchmark, so treat it as context rather than a precise ranking.
Does the Yoga Slim 7 have enough ports?
For common desk and classroom connections, the reviewed configuration has a useful mix that can avoid the need for a basic dongle:

The integrated Arc graphics give the tested laptop more capability than older integrated graphics in T3’s experience, and the reviewer found it useful for RAW photo editing. But this is not a gaming laptop or a workstation. T3 reports that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was playable at low graphics settings at around 40 frames per second. That example illustrates the limit as much as the capability: demanding games require reduced settings, and the review does not support recommending this model for sustained gaming, 3D rendering or other heavy graphics work.

What should you compare before buying?
T3 points to the Asus Zenbook S14 as an OLED alternative and Microsoft’s Surface Laptop as a Snapdragon-based option. The right choice depends on the exact configuration and your priorities, not just the product name.
| What matters | Yoga Slim 7 Aura Edition reviewed by T3 | What to check in an alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 15.3-inch IPS touchscreen, 2880 × 1800, 120Hz; glossy reflections can be distracting. | Whether the model uses OLED or another panel, and how the display suits your lighting and work. |
| Processor platform | Intel Core Ultra 7 258V in the tested 15ILL9. | Surface Laptop models cited by T3 use Snapdragon; software compatibility may be a consideration. Confirm the exact processor in the SKU you are considering. |
| Battery | More than six hours of work in T3’s practical use; not a standardized benchmark. | Compare trustworthy results under similar conditions rather than relying on a single runtime claim. |
| Workload | Strong for productivity and light editing; demanding gaming is limited to low settings in T3’s example. | Match graphics capability to your games or creative applications, especially for sustained heavy workloads. |
| Price and configuration | T3’s 2025 review listed £1,399 in the UK for its reviewed context; not a current price. | Compare the full model number, memory, storage, screen and local price. Model names alone do not establish an equivalent configuration. |
What are the main drawbacks?
- The glossy touchscreen can reflect its surroundings.
- Battery life is useful for many ordinary workdays but is not a standout based on T3’s practical-use report.
- T3 noticed lid and deck flex, and the keyboard backlight sometimes switched off during use.
- Integrated graphics are not suited to demanding gaming or sustained heavy graphics workloads.
T3 says the laptop carries MIL-STD-810H certification, but the reviewer did not test drop resistance. The certification should not be read as a hands-on finding that this unit withstands drops.
