The Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition Gen 10 is a premium 14-inch convertible for people who want a vivid OLED touchscreen, tablet flexibility and strong battery life for everyday work. Independent reviews measured about 12 hours 47 minutes of battery life, but the Yoga is not the strongest choice for sustained demanding workloads, and its premium price makes configuration and alternatives worth checking.

Which Yoga 9i is this review about?

“Yoga 9i Aura Edition” spans changing generations and configurations. This review concerns the 14-inch Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition Gen 10, the model identified by Lenovo’s Gen 10 materials and the independent reviews cited here. Confirm the generation, screen, memory and storage on a retailer listing before buying; newer-generation materials and multiple display options can make the name alone ambiguous. Lenovo’s Gen 10 datasheet and Tom’s Guide’s December 2025 review identify the relevant model.

Display: excellent OLED, but check which panel you are buying

Lenovo lists two different OLED options for the Gen 10. The 2.8K panel is a 14-inch touchscreen with 2880 × 1800 resolution, variable refresh from 30 to 120 Hz and a listed peak brightness of up to 1,100 nits. Lenovo also lists a 4K OLED at 3840 × 2400, 60 Hz and 500 nits. These are separate specifications, not a single panel with all the advantages combined. Lenovo’s datasheet also lists wide-gamut and HDR certifications for the display options.

Reviewers praised the OLED image quality. Tom’s Guide measured 420.6 nits average brightness and 149.2% DCI-P3 on its reviewed configuration; Laptop Mag reported 421 nits and 149.2% DCI-P3. Those are independent review measurements, not Lenovo’s peak-brightness rating. If display detail matters to your purchase, verify the exact panel in the configuration you are considering rather than assuming every Yoga 9i Aura Edition has the 2.8K, 120 Hz option.

Battery life: strong results, not a guarantee of a full workday

Both cited reviews recorded 12 hours 47 minutes, but their figures describe publication tests rather than a promise of personal runtime. Laptop Mag specifies a Wi-Fi web-surfing test at 150 nits; Tom’s Guide reports 12:47 for its battery test. Lenovo cautions that “Actual battery life will vary depending on many factors such as product configuration and usage.” Brightness, workload, wireless activity and configuration all affect what you will see in practice. Laptop Mag’s review and Lenovo’s datasheet provide the respective test result and manufacturer caveat.

In Tom’s Guide’s comparison table, the 13-inch M4 MacBook Air lasted 15 hours 42 minutes under that publication’s test. That is a useful same-publication reference, not a universal ranking across tests or configurations. If runtime is your deciding factor, compare results obtained with the same method and treat any review figure as a benchmark, not an exact forecast.

Performance and everyday use

Tom’s Guide’s reviewed configuration used an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, with 16–32 GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD listed for the configuration range. In its Geekbench 6 testing, Tom’s Guide recorded 2,751 single-core and 11,059 multicore. The publication characterized the Yoga as capable for everyday productivity but behind faster alternatives in CPU performance. These scores are one review’s results; they do not establish performance for every configuration or workload.

The practical distinction is workload. The Yoga’s OLED screen, convertible hinge and long tested runtime make it appealing for browsing, documents, video and touch-oriented use. For sustained, processor- or graphics-intensive work, compare independent results for the specific alternatives you are considering instead of treating the Yoga as a performance leader. Laptop Mag also flagged performance relative to competitors and criticized webcam quality, while praising the OLED and hinge speakers. Tom’s Guide and Laptop Mag offer their respective review assessments.

Convertible design, keyboard and ports

As a 2-in-1, the Yoga can serve as a conventional laptop or fold into a tablet-style position; touch and pen use are relevant advantages over a traditional clamshell. Tom’s Guide lists the reviewed model at 2.9 pounds and praised its portability and keyboard. Confirm whether a pen is included with the exact regional configuration rather than assuming it is part of every listing.

Lenovo’s user guide documents three USB-C ports: two left-side connectors supporting Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort 1.4, plus one right-side multipurpose USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4. The guide also lists one USB-A connector and a combo audio jack. This signaling detail matters when choosing a dock or external display: check that the port and dock support the display setup you need. Lenovo’s user guide documents the ports.

How it compares with alternatives

The right comparison depends on what you need from a premium laptop. The reviews discuss the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 and Apple MacBook Air as alternatives, but current prices and like-for-like configurations are not established here. Who should buy the Yoga 9i Aura Edition?

  • Consider it if you want a premium OLED convertible for everyday productivity, value touch or tablet flexibility, and prefer a long tested runtime.
  • Compare carefully if sustained intensive CPU or graphics work is central to your workload, given the performance concerns in independent reviews.
  • Check the listing closely if display type, pen inclusion, warranty, or price is decisive; those details can vary by configuration and region.

Before ordering, verify the generation and configuration at the point of sale. Lenovo’s US listing identifies one specific SKU, 83LC0005US, but it does not establish the configuration or availability in other markets: Lenovo US product page. Laptop Mag’s review reported a one-year limited warranty for its tested unit; that is not a universal warranty claim, so check the terms attached to your regional SKU.
