The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 9 14-inch Intel is a plausible match for a “premium Intel Evo laptop on a budget,” but the name alone does not identify one configuration—and the differences matter. Lenovo lists three substantially different screens, multiple processors and memory/storage options. Its 2024 launch price is historical, not a guide to what the laptop costs today. Check the exact generation, screen and components before judging a listing or review.
Which Lenovo Yoga 7i is this?
“Yoga 7i” is a product family name, not a complete model identifier. The strongest match for the Intel Evo wording in this title is Lenovo’s 14-inch Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 9 Intel family: Lenovo’s regional product listing describes an Evo Edition option, and its Gen 9 datasheet covers a 14-inch Intel convertible. That does not establish the precise configuration of any particular review unit or store listing. Check the regional Lenovo listing and Gen 9 14-inch Intel datasheet against the product’s model number and specifications.
Do not assume that a listing for another Yoga 7i describes this model. The family spans generations and screen sizes; for example, Lenovo also lists a newer Gen 10 16-inch version. The Gen 9 14-inch Intel specifications below should not be applied to that newer model or to an AMD Yoga 7.

What configurations does Lenovo list?
Lenovo’s Gen 9 14-inch Intel documentation gives family-level options, not a promise that every option is sold in every market. The actual screen is especially important: the three listed panels differ in resolution, brightness, refresh rate and color coverage.
#1 Best Overall
- Superior Performance - Enjoy smart 12-core Ultra 7 155U, fourteen-way processing with Intel Turbo Boost for extra power when needed and better energy efficiency when not
- Immersive Display - Experience natural finger-touch navigation with Windows 11. The 1920 x 1200 resolution provides vivid color and clarity, IPS technology offers wide viewing angles, and the LED backlight is energy-efficient
- 360° Flip-and-Fold Design- Switch easily between four modes: laptop, tablet, tent, and stand. Lenovo Transition automatically adjusts applications to full screen as you change modes
- Enhanced Connectivity - Benefit from the latest WiFi 6E for lower latency and better network performance in crowded areas. The Gigabit LAN port ensures a strong connection for gaming and other high-demand tasks
- Multiple Ports Available - Connect your laptop with other devices. 2x USB Type-A, 2x Type-C, 1x HDMI, 1x Micro SD Card Reader, 1x Headphone/microphone combo
| Panel option | Resolution and refresh rate | Brightness and gamut | Lenovo-listed starting weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| WUXGA LCD | 1920 × 1200; 60 Hz | 300 nits; 45% NTSC | 1.61 kg (3.55 lb) |
| WUXGA OLED | 1920 × 1200; 60 Hz | 400 nits; 100% DCI-P3 | OLED models start at 1.49 kg (3.28 lb) |
| 2.8K OLED | 2880 × 1800; 120 Hz | 400 nits; 100% DCI-P3 | OLED models start at 1.49 kg (3.28 lb) |
These are specifications from Lenovo’s datasheet, not measurements of a particular unit. In practical buying terms, the LCD and OLED are not interchangeable display experiences: the OLED options have higher listed brightness and wider color coverage, and the 2.8K version adds resolution and a faster refresh rate. Verify the exact panel on the retailer’s SKU rather than relying on photos or a generic Yoga 7i description.
Processor, memory and storage
The Gen 9 Intel family lists Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 processor options, integrated Intel Arc graphics, up to 32 GB LPDDR5X memory subject to market availability, and 512 GB or 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 storage. These options do not establish how any given configuration performs. In particular, integrated graphics should not be mistaken for a dedicated gaming or workstation GPU; the available evidence here does not establish independent benchmark results for a review unit.

Ports, wireless and included pen
Lenovo lists a 71 Wh battery, a 360-degree hinge, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Ports include two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, one USB-A, HDMI 2.1, a microSD reader and a combination audio jack. Lenovo lists a Base Pen 3.0 as included for the documented 14-inch configuration; check the box contents for the precise SKU and region before counting on it.
Is it actually a budget-priced premium laptop?
Lenovo’s January 2024 announcement set expected U.S. launch starting prices of $849.99 for the 14-inch Gen 9 and $899.99 for the 16-inch Gen 9, with availability expected from April 2024. Those are historical manufacturer launch prices, useful for understanding the original positioning—not current street prices or proof of present availability. Lenovo’s January 2024 announcement also listed a higher expected launch price for the Yoga 9i, which helps explain the “on a budget” comparison at the time.

For a purchase decision today, compare listings for the same generation, screen, processor, memory and storage, and note the retailer, market and date. A reported sale on a Gen 10 16-inch configuration is not a valid price comparison for this Gen 9 14-inch model. For example, TechRadar reported a time-limited $749.99 sale for a Gen 10 16-inch Core Ultra 7 256V configuration in September 2026; that promotion neither establishes a current price nor describes the Gen 9. See the report’s configuration and date.
How long does the battery last?
Lenovo publishes maximum battery estimates for the Gen 9 14-inch configurations. Its stated video-playback figures are up to 25.5 hours for the WUXGA LCD, up to 22.5 hours for FHD OLED, and up to 19 hours for 2.8K OLED. Lenovo also lists MobileMark 2025 estimates of up to 14.5, 12.5 and 11 hours respectively for those display variants. These are vendor estimates under specified test methods, not independent measurements of everyday use.

Lenovo says results vary with configuration, software, wireless use, power settings and screen brightness; battery capacity also declines over time and use. Treat the figures as maximums tied to the stated panel and test method, not a guarantee of a workday’s runtime. Lenovo’s datasheet provides the specifications and test qualifications.

- Model identity: Confirm Gen 9, 14-inch, Intel and the exact model or SKU.
- Display: Verify panel type, resolution, brightness, refresh rate and color gamut; the available options differ materially.
- Core components: Match the processor, memory and storage to the listing rather than assuming the family maximums are standard.
- Weight and package: Confirm the panel-dependent listed weight and whether the pen is included with that specific regional SKU.
- Price: Record the current retailer, market, date and configuration. Do not treat the 2024 launch price or a different-generation sale as a current Gen 9 price.
- Performance claims: Look for tests of the same configuration and workload. Lenovo’s spec sheet does not establish gaming performance, sustained creative-work performance, thermal behavior, fan noise or real-world battery runtime.
A single buyer’s question about whether the 14-inch Gen 9 has problems is not evidence of a widespread defect. The available product specifications do not establish model-wide reliability problems either. Assess reported issues against the exact SKU and credible evidence rather than generalizing from the Yoga name.
