The available evidence does not verify a 14% Legion Go S discount or identify an Amazon listing behind that claim, so it cannot establish that the handheld is beating the Steam Deck on price. Performance comparisons are more nuanced: PCWorld reported a 20–40% advantage for the Ryzen Z2 Go Legion Go S in its game tests, but that result is specific to its tested games and conditions—not a guarantee across models or titles.
There is also a date mismatch in the original claim. Amazon called its October 6–7, 2026 event Prime Big Deal Days; its Prime Day 2026 event ran June 23–26.
Is the Legion Go S actually 14% off?
That discount is not verified by the available sources. They do not establish a sale price, the regular price used to calculate 14%, the exact Legion Go S configuration, or a live Amazon offer. Without a dated listing or archived offer, the percentage should be treated as an unconfirmed claim, not a current deal.

The event name matters, too: Amazon’s October 6–7, 2026 sale was Prime Big Deal Days, while Prime Day 2026 took place June 23–26. Neither Amazon event announcement confirms a Legion Go S price.

Which Legion Go S are you comparing?
“Legion Go S” refers to more than one configuration. Lenovo lists versions with AMD Ryzen Z2 Go and Ryzen Z1 Extreme processors, as well as Windows and SteamOS editions and different memory and storage options. A comparison that omits the processor, operating system, and memory/storage configuration can make a particular result sound universal when it is not.
Ryzen Z2 Go specifications
Lenovo’s 2026 PSREF lists the Ryzen Z2 Go in the cited 8ARP1 configuration as a 4-core, 8-thread processor with a 3.0–4.3 GHz frequency range. Those figures describe that specified configuration, not every Legion Go S.

SteamOS and Windows editions
Lenovo describes the SteamOS edition as providing access to the Steam ecosystem, including a Steam Library, Steam Cloud, Steam Chat, and Steam Game Recording. That is Lenovo’s product-page description, not an independent assessment. The operating system is relevant to the comparison: consider whether your games and storefronts work well with the edition you intend to buy.
What does the performance comparison show?
PCWorld reported approximately 20–40% more performance for the Ryzen Z2 Go Legion Go S in the games it tested. That is a publication-specific result; it does not establish a fixed lead in every game or for every Legion Go S model. Performance comparisons depend on the exact handhelds and test setup, including the game, resolution, graphics settings, power profile, and operating system.

The Steam Deck hardware also needs to be identified. Valve describes the Steam Deck OLED as using an APU with a Zen 2 CPU and RDNA 2 GPU. That description applies to the OLED model and should not be generalized to every Steam Deck configuration.

A price advantage cannot be confirmed without a specific, current offer and a comparable Steam Deck price. Check the same region and currency, sale date, memory and storage class, operating system, warranty, and new or refurbished condition. Compare checkout prices rather than an unverified percentage or an old listed price.

What to check before choosing
- Exact model: Confirm whether the Legion Go S has a Ryzen Z2 Go or Ryzen Z1 Extreme, and identify the Steam Deck LCD or OLED model.
- Configuration: Match memory and storage as closely as possible, and note whether the Legion Go S uses Windows or SteamOS.
- Price evidence: Verify the seller, region, currency, product condition, checkout price, and date. Do not assume an unverified 14% claim is a live offer.
- Performance evidence: Look for named games, settings, resolution, and power profile; treat the PCWorld result as specific to its test set.
- Software fit: Check that the operating system suits the games and storefronts you use.
