Announced on June 23, 2025, the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 paired premium hardware with new ChromeOS features. Some features were presented as specific to Lenovo’s device, while others were announced for Chromebook Plus devices more broadly. Here’s what each offers—and what to check before buying, since current prices and promotional terms differ from the launch announcement.
What’s new with the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14?
Lenovo announced the model as the Lenovo Chromebook Plus (14”, 10). Its standout combination is a 14-inch OLED display, a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor, and a neural processing unit (NPU) rated by Google at up to 50 TOPS—trillions of operations per second. That TOPS figure is a manufacturer specification, not an independent measure of how quickly the laptop handles every AI task. Google’s June 2025 announcement and Lenovo’s launch release describe the product and its capabilities.
Display, sound and other hardware
Lenovo listed a 1920 × 1200 WUXGA OLED panel with 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, an aluminum chassis, a backlit keyboard, a 5MP webcam with a physical privacy shutter, Wi-Fi 7 and support for two external 4K displays. The launch specifications included up to 16GB of memory and up to 256GB of storage. Fingerprint reading was an option, not a feature guaranteed on every configuration.

Google and Lenovo advertised up to 17 hours of battery life. Google said its estimate came from controlled web-browsing tests on pre-production devices running ChromeOS version 135.16209.50.0. Lenovo said its estimate was approximate and based on internal testing under optimal laboratory and network conditions. Neither figure guarantees typical runtime: usage, settings, network conditions and configuration can reduce it.

Google announced these features for the Chromebook Plus family, rather than describing them as exclusive to the Lenovo model. Eligibility and requirements vary by feature.

Quick Insert key
A new hardware key can insert images and emoji or generate AI images for documents and presentations. Whether a Chromebook has the key depends on its hardware; the announcement did not make it a feature of every existing Chromebook Plus keyboard.

Lenovo’s current US page for SKU 83MY000VUS described a different configuration—Kompanio Ultra 910, 12GB memory and 128GB storage—and an offer of Google AI Pro, 2TB of storage and more for 12 months. The pages do not establish why the configurations and storage offers differ, so don’t assume either storage amount applies to every model or buyer. Check Lenovo’s current US listing for that SKU, then confirm the exact configuration, account eligibility and offer terms before purchase.
Is this the right Chromebook Plus to buy?
The Lenovo stands out on paper if you want an OLED screen, a high-resolution display, quad speakers and the model-specific Smart grouping and Gallery tools. The processor’s advertised NPU capability is also relevant if on-device AI is a priority, but the launch specifications do not establish independent performance results.
Compare the exact SKU and live price with other Chromebook Plus options. Check screen size and type, memory, storage, battery-test basis, ports, weight, feature eligibility and any subscription offer. The launch materials and current product pages establish specifications and manufacturer claims, not independent benchmark results, typical battery life, guaranteed stock or eligibility for every promotion.
