Choose the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 if you want a more compact tablet with a sharper small screen and lower tablet-only weight. Choose the Duet 5 if you prefer a much larger OLED display for video, reading, or side-by-side work—and can find a suitable listing in acceptable condition. Both use the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2, so the main differences are their displays, size, configurations, and availability.

Which screen fits the way you use a Chromebook?
Choose the Duet 3 for compactness and pixel density
The Duet 3’s 10.95-inch screen is smaller, but its 2000 × 1200 resolution has more pixels than the Duet 5’s 1920 × 1080 panel. That makes the Duet 3 the better fit if you want a compact tablet with a sharper image at its smaller size. Its IPS panel is rated by Lenovo at 400 nits and 70.8% NTSC.
Choose the Duet 5 for a larger OLED viewing area
The Duet 5’s 13.3-inch OLED screen gives video, reading, and split-screen work more room. Lenovo lists it at 400 nits and 100% DCI-P3. Its resolution is lower than the Duet 3’s despite the larger size, so this is not a simple “bigger and sharper” upgrade: it is a choice between a more compact, higher-resolution IPS screen and a larger OLED screen.

Brightness and color figures are Lenovo specifications, not independent measurements. They do not establish how either display performs in every room or for every kind of work.
How portable are they with and without the keyboard?
The Duet 3 tablet starts at 516.5 g, compared with 700 g for the Duet 5. If you often detach the keyboard and carry the device as a tablet, the Duet 3 is the lighter option. Lenovo lists the Duet 3 folio keyboard at 429.3 g and the Duet 5 keyboard at 320 g; using those starting figures, the complete Duet 3 package is 945.8 g and the Duet 5 package is 1,020 g.
These are Lenovo’s starting weights, not a guarantee for every configuration or manufactured unit. The Duet 5’s keyboard weighs less, but its larger tablet makes the listed tablet-and-keyboard combination heavier overall.

Do the battery figures mean the Duet 5 lasts longer?
Lenovo lists a 29 Wh battery and a maximum of 12 hours for the Duet 3, and a 42 Wh battery and a maximum of 15.5 hours for the Duet 5. Both time figures are maxima from Lenovo’s Google Power Load Test, as reported in PSREF sheets last modified in 2023; they are not guaranteed everyday runtimes. Lenovo says actual battery life varies with configuration, use, software, wireless connections, settings, and screen brightness.
Use the figures as manufacturer test claims rather than promises of how long either Chromebook will last in your routine. They also should not be treated as directly comparable to independent tests using different workloads or methods.
Are their performance, memory, and storage different?
Lenovo lists the same Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor for both models. The specifications do not support describing the Duet 5 as a newer processor generation. Neither model’s memory is upgradeable: both are listed with 4 GB or 8 GB of soldered RAM.
Rank #3
Storage options depend on the configuration. Lenovo lists 64 GB or 128 GB eMMC for the Duet 3 and 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB eMMC for the Duet 5. Check the exact part number and configuration on the seller’s listing; a model name alone does not tell you how much memory or storage a particular unit has.
What should you know about ports, keyboards, and pens?
Ports and keyboard connection
Both devices list two USB-C ports and a detachable keyboard connection using pogo pins. Lenovo specifies USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 for the Duet 3 and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 for the Duet 5; both support data, charging, and DisplayPort. Neither PSREF lists a built-in card reader. If you need additional connections, consider whether your peripherals require a USB-C adapter or hub.
Stylus compatibility
For the Duet 3 11Q727, Lenovo specifies a USI 2.0 stylus and explicitly excludes USI 1.0 compatibility. A pen may not be included with every configuration. For the Duet 5, confirm pen support and inclusion for the exact SKU rather than assuming a pen bundled with another Duet will work or be included.

Is the Duet 5 still available?
Lenovo’s PSREF index marks the Duet 5 family as withdrawn. That does not prove every retailer has sold out, but it does mean buyers should verify current stock and the condition of any listing instead of assuming the model is readily available new. Lenovo product-page presence by itself does not confirm inventory for either device.
Before buying, check the seller, whether the unit is new, refurbished, or used, the return terms, the precise configuration, and the price. The right comparison is between the actual listings you can buy, not just the model names.
