LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi (71438) is a 1,215-piece adult display set with two hand-operated moving features. LEGO’s January 2025 U.S. catalog lists it at $129.99, but that is a list-price reference—not confirmation of a Prime Day deal. The available sources do not verify a current U.S. Amazon offer or establish that any Prime Day price is the lowest ever.
What is LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi 71438?
Set 71438 is a collectible display model inspired by Super Mario World, rather than a conventional interactive Mario play set. LEGO lists it as an 18+ set with 1,215 pieces. Its finished dimensions are over 15.5 inches high, 10 inches wide, and 4 inches deep, according to LEGO’s January 2025 U.S. catalog.
The model has two manual mechanisms: turning the base handle makes Yoshi run with Mario on his back, while turning the dial behind Yoshi’s head makes his tongue extend and retract. An Action Tag is also included. LEGO says optional Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures can be added for digital reactions; those figures are sold separately and are not needed to build or display the set.
LEGO’s U.S. product page identifies the set and lists a $129.99 price. Nintendo’s announcement provides additional context on the set’s reveal. LEGO Shop U.S. product page · LEGO U.S. January 2025 retail catalog · Nintendo announcement

Is LEGO Mario & Yoshi 71438 retired?
The available LEGO listings indicate limited availability, but they do not establish a definitive U.S. retirement date. When checked, LEGO’s U.S. page showed “Sold out.” LEGO Netherlands showed both “Retiring soon” and “Sold out.” Those are region-specific, changeable store statuses: the Netherlands label does not confirm when, or whether, LEGO will retire the set in the United States.
For current availability, check the LEGO store for your country and the retailer’s checkout page. A sold-out listing means the item was unavailable there when observed; it is not, by itself, proof that the set has been permanently discontinued. LEGO Netherlands product page

What is the lowest price for LEGO 71438?
The confirmed U.S. price reference in the sources is $129.99, listed in LEGO’s January 2025 U.S. retail catalog. It is not a verified current offer and does not show what the set costs during Prime Day. No live Amazon checkout price or U.S. Amazon price-history series was verified, so the claim that a Prime Day offer is the “lowest price ever” cannot be confirmed for the U.S. market.
Brickwatch reports a lowest-ever tracked price of €76.99 for its market. That is a third-party tracker’s figure in euros, not evidence of a U.S. Amazon record or a current Prime Day price. Check the price and seller shown at checkout, and compare like-for-like offers in your country before treating a discount claim as a record. Brickwatch price tracker
