LEGO set 72423 is an 18+ display model with 1,403 pieces: brick-built Shrek and Donkey, plus a Puss in Boots minifigure. It is listed at $129.99 on LEGO’s US store as of October 4, 2026. LEGO’s specifications make its contents and shelf footprint clear, but there is no hands-on evidence here to judge the build, pose stability, likeness, or value against other sets.
What is included in LEGO Shrek set 72423?
LEGO names the product Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots. The box contains a brick-built Shrek, a brick-built Donkey, and a Puss in Boots minifigure, arranged on a swamp base. The base includes a “Beware Ogre” sign, sunflowers, an onion, and a blue flower with red thorns. LEGO also says there are hidden Easter eggs inside Shrek. LEGO’s product listing describes these contents.
How big is LEGO 72423?
LEGO states that the model is over 24 cm high, 21 cm wide, and 16 cm deep. These are the manufacturer’s stated dimensions, not independent measurements. Check the available shelf or desk space against all three measurements, allowing extra room if you want to view the model from different angles.

How are the characters posed?
LEGO describes Shrek’s head, arms, hands, and fingers as movable. Donkey’s head rotates, its mouth opens, and its ears and tail swivel. Those are advertised articulation features; there is no independent assessment here of how smoothly the parts move or whether the figures hold particular poses reliably.

The official LEGO US store listed 72423 for $129.99 and marked it “available now” when accessed on October 4, 2026. Price and stock can change, so check the current LEGO US listing before buying. Whether that price is worthwhile depends on your interest in the three characters and the space available for a display model; there is no documented build experience or comparable-set pricing here to support a stronger value verdict.

How does it compare with the Shrek BrickHeadz set?
LEGO and Universal Products & Experiences announced their first LEGO Shrek sets on April 23, 2026, describing 72423 as available from June 1, 2026. The announcement also introduced a separate Shrek, Donkey & Gingy BrickHeadz set for ages 10+. That is a different character lineup: it includes Gingy instead of the Puss in Boots minifigure identified for 72423. The announcement establishes the BrickHeadz set as a smaller-build alternative, but does not provide a current price or stock comparison. Read LEGO’s announcement.
