Choose LEGO PlayStation (72306) if the original PlayStation is the gaming icon you want on display. Its Gran Turismo diorama is a hidden feature inside a 1,911-piece console model—not a standalone racing set. If you would rather build an interactive arcade cabinet or a different console, compare it with LEGO PAC-MAN Arcade and the NES set before deciding.
What you get with LEGO PlayStation 72306
Announced by the LEGO Group on September 3, 2026, set 72306 is an age-18+ display model representing the original PlayStation at near 1:1 scale. The 1,911-piece build includes the console and its original-style controller, which plugs into the system. The model’s Open and Power buttons function.
Opening the console reveals two brick-built scenes inspired by Gran Turismo and Ape Escape, games LEGO identifies as originally released in 1997 and 1999, respectively. The Gran Turismo scene depicts a miniature track with small cars. The concealed scenes can also be pulled out for separate display, but the set is not a full car collection or a playable racing game. LEGO announced a US suggested retail price of $179.99 and general release on October 4, 2026, after LEGO Insiders early access beginning October 1. See LEGO’s announcement and official US product listing for product details.

Which set should you buy?
Choose PlayStation 72306 for the console and its game references
Pick it if your main draw is the original PlayStation, its controller, and the tucked-away Gran Turismo and Ape Escape scenes. The racing reference is part of a larger console display model, so it suits someone who wants the whole PlayStation package rather than a dedicated model of cars or a track.
Choose NES 71374 for Nintendo console nostalgia
The NES combines a console, controller, cartridge, and TV with a scrolling-screen feature. It is the alternative to consider if that specific console-and-television presentation matters more to you. Because LEGO labels the product retired on its US listing, verify the seller, condition, and price before buying from the secondary market. Check LEGO’s NES listing.
Choose PAC-MAN Arcade 10323 for an arcade-cabinet build
PAC-MAN is the better thematic match if you want an arcade cabinet with a mechanical maze and illuminated coin slot rather than a home console replica. LEGO’s US product page showed the set as sold out in the snapshot accessed October 4, 2026; that does not establish availability in other regions or from other sellers. Check LEGO’s PAC-MAN listing.

Choose a play-focused set if you want more than a display
These nostalgia models emphasize recognizable gaming hardware and display features. If you want a build centered on characters and active play, browse LEGO’s gaming range and compare the specific set’s intended format with what you want to do after building it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Check these details before you decide
- Franchise: Decide whether PlayStation, Nintendo, or PAC-MAN has the strongest personal appeal; the best fit depends on the game world or hardware you actually want to display.
- Build format: The PlayStation and NES are console displays, while PAC-MAN is an arcade cabinet. Their moving or functional features are not the same as a play-focused set.
- Space and budget: Check the finished model’s dimensions and the price on the live listing before ordering. The announced $179.99 price is the PlayStation set’s US suggested retail price, not a guarantee of what a retailer or resale seller will charge.
- Seller and status: Availability changes. Confirm the listing for your region, and for a retired set compare the seller’s condition description and price with other trusted options.
The available manufacturer listings establish piece counts, advertised features, the PlayStation set’s announced US price, and the cited listing-status snapshots. They do not establish build time, independent quality testing, resale value, or which set an individual buyer will enjoy most.
