Working buttons and a plug-in controller
PlayStation’s announcement describes functional Power and Open buttons, and a controller that plugs into the console. Two removable game dioramas
The set includes two removable mini dioramas themed around Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. PlayStation says they can be displayed separately, giving owners an option beyond keeping every component inside the console model. PlayStation’s UK product page identifies the game themes.

How much space and building time should you plan for?
Allow a shelf area at least 26 cm wide and 19 cm deep for the console, plus nearby space if you want to show the removable dioramas separately. The listed height is more than 6 cm; the official dimensions do not specify extra clearance for handling or display arrangements.
The set has 1,911 pieces. Tom’s Guide’s reviewer reported spending five hours assembling it and described the process as calming. That is one person’s experience, not an official estimate or a promise of typical build time; pace and familiarity with LEGO builds can affect the experience.

Is the LEGO PlayStation worth it?
Its strongest case is the combination of an instantly recognizable console silhouette, a matching controller, small interactive details, and removable scenes tied to two PlayStation games. Those features make it more engaging to assemble and arrange than a simple solid model, while keeping it firmly in the display-set category.
The trade-offs are the price, the 1,911-piece commitment, and shelf space. LEGO’s US page showed $179.99, while TechRadar reported a UK price of £139.99. These are market-specific figures, not a universal or guaranteed current price. TechRadar’s launch report gives the UK figure; check the LEGO listing for your market for current price and stock.

For a PlayStation fan who enjoys building and displaying memorabilia, the concept has a clear appeal. If you want a working console, a compact shelf item, or a build chosen primarily for its gameplay utility, this set does not meet that need.
