Start with the game’s accessibility preset closest to your needs, then adjust the specific controls, text, sound, motion, and challenge options that matter to you. There is no single best setup: LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight combines combat, gadgets, puzzles, exploration, and vehicles, so the most useful settings depend on how you play.
What should I change first?
- Choose a first-launch preset that is closest to your needs: Vision Accessibility, Hearing Accessibility, Motor Accessibility, or Motion Sickness. Treat it as a starting point, not a fixed bundle; review the individual options afterward. WB Games lists the presets and features.
- Fix the most immediate barrier. If reading is difficult, enlarge text and subtitles. If sound cues are hard to hear, try captions for key sound effects. If camera motion is uncomfortable, review shake and field-of-view controls. If button holds or repeated taps are tiring, try One Touch Interactions.
- Play a short section and refine. Change one or two settings at a time so you can tell what helps. You can pause during gameplay and cinematics, and review tutorials and tips from the pause menu.
The game’s seven base playable characters have distinct skills, progression trees, combos, and gadgets. Camera behavior, gadget aiming, and input choices that feel comfortable for one character or activity may not suit another.
Can I change subtitles and captions?
Yes. Text size and subtitle size each have three options. Subtitles can show main and ambient dialogue with speaker names, and you can adjust their background opacity. A speech text log lets you review recent dialogue.
For non-dialogue audio, the feature list also includes captions for key sound effects and icons for voice-over cues. These are separate from dialogue subtitles, so check both if you rely on on-screen text to follow conversations and sound events.

Which visual and motion settings should I check?
High Contrast Mode lets you adjust colors and outlines. Its background fades by default, but you can restore it. The game also documents color-coded information paired with a second feedback method, such as shapes, plus adjustable full-screen effects and HUD and marker visibility.
If camera movement is distracting or uncomfortable, look for the field-of-view setting, dynamic field-of-view adjustments, camera shake controls, a center dot, and third-person camera recentering. These options address different effects: for example, a center dot can help maintain a visual reference, while shake controls affect camera movement. Try adjustments individually rather than assuming one setting will address every discomfort.

What sound settings are available?
Separate sliders are listed for master volume, music, effects, and dialogue. You can balance these to make speech or gameplay sounds easier to hear without raising every channel equally. Other documented options include Night Mode, which reduces differences between loud and quiet sounds; audio description during cinematics; and audio profiles including Mono.

Can I remap controls?
The official feature list says gameplay inputs can be remapped, with map and pause as exceptions. It also lists stick swapping, independent camera-axis inversion, deadzone adjustment for each stick, and separate camera and aiming sensitivity controls. Aim snap and adjustable lock-on assistance are available to help with targeting.

- LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Gadget aiming can be set to a held or toggled input. The game also offers choices for repeated or held button inputs, which can reduce the need to maintain a press or tap repeatedly. The official sources describe default stick roles as left stick for movement and right stick for camera, but they do not provide a Switch 2 button-by-button diagram or confirm that every listed feature works identically on Switch 2. Inspect the control and accessibility menus on your system rather than relying on an inferred button layout.
Can I simplify button presses?
Yes. One Touch Interactions can turn most holds and repeated taps into a single tap. This can reduce input effort, though it changes how those interactions work. If only certain actions are uncomfortable, first review the individual held-input and repeated-input options; use One Touch Interactions if a broader simplification is more useful.

Can I slow the game or make challenges easier?
Gameplay speed can be reduced from the 100% default to 90%, 75%, or 50%. QTEs can be simplified so any button can be pressed or held, or set to complete automatically. WB Games says QTEs cannot be failed regardless of the chosen setting.

WB Games says local two-player co-op is supported and online co-op is not. WB Games’ accessibility page says, “We plan to introduce Screen Reader support in a future patch. Please stay tuned for future updates.” That is a stated plan, not confirmation that screen reader support is currently available.
