Use a Legend of Kingdoms tier list as a shortlist, not a final answer: the best hero for your team is the one who fills a role you need and fits the fight, your formation, and your progression stage. The latest list located is Pocket Gamer’s editorial snapshot for version 1.0.17, updated September 2, 2026—not an official ranking. Check its placements against your own lineup before investing.
What a tier list can—and cannot—tell you
Pocket Gamer’s Legend of Kingdoms tier list groups heroes into S+, S, A, B, and C for version 1.0.17; the page says it was updated September 2, 2026. Those placements are Pocket Gamer’s editorial assessments, not rankings published by the developer. The available sources do not establish official hero rankings, controlled comparisons, or mode-by-mode performance tests.
That makes the list useful for narrowing your choices, but not enough to decide a team on its own. A high placement does not prove a hero is the right pick for every battle, faction, formation, or point in progression. Hero availability and balance can also change, so check the game version and guide’s revision date when you use a list.
How to evaluate heroes for your team
1. Fill the lineup’s essential roles
Start with the job your current team lacks. Pocket Gamer’s team-building guidance recommends having at least one support and one front-line hero. Once those needs are covered, consider whether the encounter calls for more damage or control rather than adding another hero simply because a tier list places them highly.

2. Read what each hero’s skills contribute
The game’s Google Play listing describes more than 44 fighters across four factions, each with unique skills. Look beyond a hero’s broad role to the effect their skills bring to your lineup. For example, Pocket Gamer describes Demon Lu Bu – Feng Xian as a damage dealer on the frontline who can become invincible; Demon Diao Chan – Bi Yue as a high-damage Assassin with self-healing and bleed; and Saint Da Qiao as a healing and support option with crowd control. These are Pocket Gamer’s character assessments, not independently verified performance results.
3. Check faction and formation fit
The store listing identifies faction bonuses and formations as team-building features. When comparing two candidates, account for how each fits the faction bonuses and formation you can actually field; an isolated tier placement does not show that fit.

4. Match the hero to the mode and progression stage
A hero’s usefulness can depend on whether you are progressing through story content or facing a boss, and on where you are in the game. An older community tier list separates early-to-mid-game, late-game, and boss-focused use. Treat it as historical perspective, not current placement evidence: it also notes that faction matchups, luck, and timing can affect results. Pocket Gamer’s team advice likewise recommends timing skills against bosses.

The Google Play listing says the game has a fighter rebirth function that returns resources spent on fighters. Its developer-provided store copy says, “Never be afraid of training your heroes wrongly as a newbie here.” That is the listing’s reassurance, not independent testing; check the current in-game mechanics before relying on it. Rebirth may make experimentation easier, while the right choice still depends on the resources and heroes available to you.

A practical comparison checklist
Before promoting or building around a hero, compare candidates on the dimensions that affect your actual team:
- Role: Does your lineup need a frontline fighter, damage, healing and support, or control?
- Skill contribution: What does the hero’s skill set add to the encounter, beyond a broad role label?
- Synergy: How does the hero work with your faction bonuses and formation?
- Use case: Are you choosing for story progress, a boss, or another mode available to you?
- Progression: Is the hero useful for your current stage, or are you relying on a ranking that emphasizes a different stage?
- Investment flexibility: What resources will training use, and what does the game’s current rebirth function return?
- Evidence: Is the placement from a dated editorial guide, a community list, or an official source? The available sources establish no official hero ranking.
Build around your lineup’s need, not the letter grade
Use Pocket Gamer’s version 1.0.17 list to identify candidates, then compare their skills and role with the fight you are preparing for. Keep a frontline and support presence in mind, check faction and formation fit, and distinguish current editorial placements from older community advice. If two heroes appear similarly suitable, the one that solves your team’s actual gap is the more useful choice.
