Apple is still asking leaker Jon Prosser for YouTube revenue reports, channel analytics, and communications he exchanged with third parties. Prosser’s lawyer says he has already met the discovery obligations he agreed to, and that Apple keeps requesting more as records are produced. Both sides described their positions in a joint status report, reported on October 8, 2026. No court has yet ruled on whether Apple’s requests are proper.
What Apple is asking Prosser to produce
According to MacRumors’ account of the joint status report, Apple says it has not yet received three categories of material it requested more than three months before the October 8 report:
- YouTube revenue reports from Prosser’s channel
- Channel analytics
- Communications with third parties
Apple ties these requests to two questions. The first is alleged financial gain from the videos. The second is how Apple’s confidential information was obtained and then shared. The 9to5Mac report of the same filing describes the discovery requests in similar terms. Apple’s position is that the material bears on those two questions; a court has not yet decided that.
Prosser’s response: discovery is complete, and the requests keep growing
Prosser’s lawyer says his client has fulfilled the discovery obligations the parties agreed to when they sought to set aside Prosser’s default. The lawyer argues that Apple continues to ask for additional documents each time new records are produced. That framing treats the dispute as one about scope and sequencing rather than about whether any documents exist.

These are statements from the parties’ filing. They are not a ruling on whether the requests are proper, and they do not establish how many documents remain outstanding.
The case behind the discovery fight
Apple filed its lawsuit in July 2025; the complaint is dated July 17, 2025. The case concerns unreleased software designs that Apple says were disclosed from an employee’s development iPhone, including work then associated with iOS 19, which Apple later released as iOS 26.

Apple’s allegations
Apple’s complaint alleges that Prosser and Michael Ramacciotti coordinated to access the development device and disclose its contents. It says Ramacciotti showed features on the device during a video call, and that Prosser then published videos. Apple also points to Prosser’s deposition testimony and Signal exchanges with Ramacciotti as evidence of that coordination, and says the material suggests they sought to obtain and disclose confidential information for financial gain. Ramacciotti has denied a conspiracy.
These are allegations and party statements. The reporting does not establish that Apple’s interpretation of the testimony and messages is correct.

Prosser’s admission and denials
MacRumors reports that Prosser admitted taking part in a FaceTime call during which Ramacciotti showed him features running on the development device. Prosser denies taking part in a coordinated scheme. He also denies that the information he saw constituted trade secrets. Both the admission and the denials stand in the record as reported, and neither has been tested at trial.
The Liquid Glass recreations
MacRumors also reports that Prosser published recreations of the Liquid Glass redesign before Apple announced it. Apple seeks damages and an injunction that would bar further disclosure of this kind of material, according to the report. Those remedies are what Apple has requested; the court has not granted them.

The trade-secret dispute
Prosser’s side makes three arguments about whether the information is still protected:

- Some of the material may not have been secret, given earlier third-party disclosures.
- Apple’s descriptions of the trade secrets do not come with corresponding images.
Apple disputes that its disclosure is deficient. It says it is willing to discuss the issue with defense counsel. Apple’s position is that the information was protected when it was taken, and that its claims are supported by evidence. Prosser’s position is that the information is now public and was never protected in the form at issue. Neither argument has been adjudicated, so it would be premature to treat either as settled.

Ramacciotti’s conditions and the timeline
Ramacciotti has asked for an October status conference at which Apple would explain what additional evidence it needs. He has also asked for a 30-day deadline after that for Apple either to dismiss its claims against him or commit to a trial. He conditions another deposition and updated written answers on Apple first giving him a roadmap to resolution.
If the court does not grant the conference, the parties proposed filing their next status update on December 2, 2026. The table below separates what has happened from what has only been proposed.

What is not decided yet
- Whether Apple’s discovery requests for YouTube revenue, analytics, and communications are proper.
- Whether the information Apple describes was a trade secret, and whether it has become public.
- Whether Apple’s account of coordination and financial gain is correct.
- Whether the October status conference will take place, and whether Apple will dismiss its claims against Ramacciotti or proceed to trial.
Until the court rules or the parties file their next update, the reporting describes competing filings and statements rather than findings.
