A 2024 leak report said AMD was preparing four Radeon RX 8000M laptop GPU models, with up to 16 GB of memory and up to 175 W. Those figures were reported claims, not AMD specifications. AMD later announced RDNA 4 desktop cards under the Radeon RX 9000 name, while its laptop graphics page lists RX 7000 products. The official sources reviewed do not confirm that the alleged RX 8000M lineup reached retail.
What did the RX 8000M laptop GPU leak claim?
VideoCardz attributed the report to leaker Golden Pig Upgrade Pack. It said AMD’s alleged Radeon RX 8000M laptop family would include four SKUs, with the lineup reaching up to 16 GB of memory and up to 175 W. These are leak-reported upper limits; the report does not establish specifications for four named, confirmed products. VideoCardz’s report should therefore be read as rumor coverage, not an AMD product announcement.
The reported 175 W figure describes the alleged laptop GPUs. It is not a performance measure, and it should not be treated as directly comparable to desktop graphics-card total board power (TBP).

No. A separate VideoCardz article published August 27, 2024, discussed four alleged Navi 4X variants: R24D-E6, R24D-E8, R25D-P4, and R25D-P8. That article explicitly characterized its details as speculation. Those codes are not the four laptop SKUs in the RX 8000M report. The separate Navi 4X rumor should not be used to fill in model names for the laptop leak.

What did AMD officially announce for RDNA 4?
On February 28, 2025, AMD announced RDNA 4 desktop graphics under the Radeon RX 9000 Series name. Its release named the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, and said board-partner availability was expected to begin March 6, 2025. The desktop announcement does not verify the reported RX 8000M laptop lineup. AMD’s press release gives these desktop specifications:
| Desktop model | Memory | TBP | U.S. SEP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Radeon RX 9070 XT | 16 GB GDDR6 | 304 W | $599 |
| Radeon RX 9070 | 16 GB GDDR6 | 220 W | $549 |
These are desktop-card figures from AMD’s 2025 announcement. They do not describe laptop GPUs, and their TBP values should not be compared directly with the leak’s alleged 175 W laptop limit.

What does AMD’s laptop portfolio show?
AMD’s laptop graphics page describes RX 7000 Series products, including the RX 7900M. AMD identifies the RX 7900M as an RDNA 3 laptop GPU with 16 GB of GDDR6. The page does not identify an RX 8000M lineup. AMD’s laptop graphics portfolio is useful for checking what AMD lists, but its lack of RX 8000M models is not proof that no related design existed or could exist.
AMD’s Hot Chips presentation is titled “AMD RDNA 4 Radeon 9000 Series GPU,” and its SKU tables list RX 9070 and RX 9060 desktop models. This adds official context for AMD’s RDNA 4 desktop naming; it is not evidence of RX 8000M mobile availability. AMD’s Hot Chips presentation concerns the RX 9000 Series.

So, was a four-model RX 8000M lineup real?
The supported answer is that a four-SKU lineup was reported, but the reviewed official AMD material does not confirm that it became a retail laptop product family. The leak is not enough to establish launch status, final specifications, or availability. Nor does AMD’s RX 9000 desktop announcement prove that the laptop rumor was definitively false: it confirms a desktop product name and lineup, not the fate of every rumored mobile design.
There is no substantiated four-model RX 8000M laptop lineup to rank or recommend on the basis of these sources. Keep the leak’s four-SKU claim, the separate Navi 4X speculation, and AMD’s confirmed RX 9000 desktop products distinct.
