The Laspressa Espresso Point PC is a discontinued capsule espresso machine that takes Lavazza Espresso Point capsules, not Nespresso capsules. The “+ Frother” in the listing title does not mean a frother comes with it: CHOICE’s package-contents field says the milk frother is sold separately. This guide covers what the machine is, what its listed specifications say, and what to check before buying one used.
What kind of machine this is
CHOICE classifies the Laspressa Espresso Point PC as a capsule espresso machine and records Lavazza Aroma Club as its capsule type. That places it in Lavazza’s Espresso Point capsule system, which is a different format from Nespresso.
A specialist Lavazza Espresso Point supplier states that its Espresso Point machines use only Lavazza Espresso Point capsules. Its listing for the EP 951 also says new machines of that model are no longer available. Tecnocaffè describes its EP 2500 Plus the same way and lists Aroma Club among its espresso options. Both are other Espresso Point models, so they support the system-level capsule claim rather than confirming every detail of this Laspressa unit.

Pump pressure is the figure readers most often over-read. 19 bar is the stated pump pressure. It does not tell you how the coffee tastes, how hot it runs, or how consistent the shots are.
Is the frother included?
Not according to the product record. The title says “+ Frother”, but CHOICE’s package-contents field reads “Espresso machine and literature. Milk frother sold separately.” Any listing that uses that wording should be checked before you pay for it.
Rank #2
- Please refer to user guide or user manual or user guide (provided below in PDF) before first use
- Includes Portafilter, measuring scoop/tamper and two filters for single or double espresso
- Stainless steel boiler is engineered to last long and work for years
- Manual steam wand to texture milk for lattes and cappuccinos
- Ask the seller whether the frother is included, and whether it is the unit shown in the photos.
- Read the frother’s model name against the listing description. A “+ Frother” title on its own is not proof that one is in the box.
- If no frother is included, budget for a separate milk frother. This article does not recommend a specific model.
Can you still buy capsules?
Discontinuation limits new-machine supply, but it does not settle whether capsules can be bought. CHOICE marks the model discontinued, and the specialist supplier’s EP 951 listing says new machines of that model are no longer available. Neither source shows current capsule stock in any country.
Before buying a used machine, check locally:
- Search for Lavazza Espresso Point capsules, and confirm the packaging says Espresso Point, not Nespresso.
- If you want that blend, confirm Lavazza Aroma Club is in stock where you live.
- Check the retailer’s stock and shipping region, since availability varies by country and changes over time.
An owner Q&A on ProductReview.com.au suggests trying a Lavazza Espresso Point refillable capsule. That is one user’s suggestion. No authoritative compatibility confirmation was found, so treat it as unverified and check the machine’s manual or the capsule maker’s compatibility information before trying it.

What owners say
Owner comments on ProductReview.com.au are mixed. Some praise ease of use, coffee quality, compact size, or the adjustable cup tray. Others complain about cup clearance, plastic construction, and coffee quality.
These are older individual posts. They are not controlled tests or a representative sample, so read them as anecdotes about what some owners liked and disliked, not as a reliability score.

What CHOICE’s rating does and does not show
CHOICE’s overall rating, taste, ease-of-use, milk-frothing, temperature-consistency, and timing results are behind CHOICE membership. The public page does not show them, so this article cannot say whether CHOICE rated the machine well or poorly. Consumer NZ’s espresso-machine index, updated January 2026, also lists the model, but its public page does not show detailed findings. This article does not include hands-on testing of the machine.

Buying a used one: four checks
Because the machine is discontinued and its owner reviews are old, the buying decision comes down to four questions:
Best Value
- Steam Brewing: Powerful steam-brewing process brews dark, rich espresso, great for making Cuban coffee
- Extra-Large Portafilter: Brew up to 4 shots of rich espresso with the extra-large portafilter
- Frothing Wand: Integrated frothing wand easily froths milk for delicious cappuccinos and lattes
- Water Pitcher: Water pitcher features measurement markings for consistent brewing and steaming
- Measuring Scoop: Measuring scoop for easy coffee scooping and leveling
- Capsules: Can you source genuine Lavazza Espresso Point capsules locally at a price you accept?
- Frother: Does the seller include a working frother, or will you need to buy one?
- Condition: Ask for clear photos of the cup tray, water tank, and capsule holder, and ask whether the machine has been descaled and runs through a full cycle.
- Price: Does the used price still make sense against the cost of a current capsule machine whose capsules you can easily buy? Comparing against other models is a judgement about your own needs, not a finding that another machine performs better.
Who it suits
- Someone who already owns Espresso Point capsules, or can source them easily where they live, and is offered the machine at a low price.
- A buyer who will not rely on a frother coming with the machine, or who already has a milk frother.
For anyone else, the discontinued status and uncertain capsule supply make a current capsule machine with a clear supply chain the safer purchase.
