The Kyocera ECOSYS PA2600cwx is a printer-only, desktop A4 color laser printer aimed at home workspaces, individual users and smaller offices. It offers duplex printing as standard, a 250-sheet cassette plus a 50-sheet multipurpose tray, wired and wireless networking, and a rated engine speed of 27 pages per minute for Letter-R paper. It is a reasonable shortlist candidate if your work is print-only and you want color on the desk. Whether it is worth buying depends on figures this review cannot supply: current local toner prices, your monthly page mix, and regional warranty terms.
This review is based entirely on manufacturer material: Kyocera’s U.S. product page, its 2025 spec guide, its 2025.04 operation guide, and its February 11, 2025 launch announcement. No hands-on testing, independent lab results, noise measurements, or current retail prices are included. Every speed, yield and capacity figure below is Kyocera’s own and should be read with the conditions stated next to it.
What kind of printer the PA2600cwx is
The PA2600cwx is a printer only. Kyocera’s launch announcement introduced it alongside four other models, the MA2600cwfx, MA2600cwx, MA2101cwfx and PA2101cwx. The “MA” models are multifunction devices, so the PA2600cwx is the choice for people who only print. The sources describe no scanning, copying or fax function for this model, so if you need those, look at a multifunction model from the same family instead.

That is the largest sheet size the page lists; it does not claim support for anything larger.

Rated speed and print resolution
Kyocera rates the engine at 27 pages per minute in black-and-white and in color for Letter-R paper. The operation guide gives a lower figure for A4R and A5 paper, 26 pages per minute. These are rated engine speeds. They do not include warm-up, paper handling or the time a job spends in the spooler, and the sources do not give a monthly duty cycle.
| Measure | Kyocera figure | Stated conditions | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Engine speed, black-and-white | 27 ppm | Letter-R paper | s1 product page; s3 operation guide |
| Engine speed, color | 27 ppm | Letter-R paper | Same as above |
| Engine speed, A4R and A5 | 26 ppm | Per the 2025.04 print-speed table | s3 operation guide |
| First black-and-white page | 9.5 seconds | Kyocera-stated | s1 and s3 |
| First color page | 10.5 seconds | Kyocera-stated | s1 and s3 |
| Warm-up | 29 seconds or less | Kyocera-stated | s1 product page |
| Resolution | 600 x 600 dpi; 1200 x 1200 dpi at reduced speed | The 1200 dpi mode runs slower than the rated engine speed | s1 product page |
For most office documents, 600 x 600 dpi is the setting you will use day to day. The 1200 x 1200 dpi mode is available for finer detail, but Kyocera states it runs at reduced speed, so expect longer jobs if you switch to it.
Paper handling and capacity
The standard configuration has two inputs: a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray, giving 300 sheets standard. The Kyocera spec guide lists a maximum of 550 sheets when the optional PF-5110 paper-feed cassette is installed. The PF-5110 adds 250 sheets, which brings the total to 550. Output capacity is 150 sheets.
| Component | Capacity | Paper range stated |
|---|---|---|
| Standard cassette | 250 sheets | 16 lb bond to 90 lb index (60 to 163 gsm) |
| Multipurpose tray | 50 sheets | Up to 120 lb index (220 gsm) |
| Standard total input | 300 sheets | Per spec guide |
| PF-5110 optional cassette | 250 sheets | Adds capacity; confirm compatibility before buying |
| Maximum total input | 550 sheets | With the PF-5110 installed |
| Output tray | 150 sheets | Per spec guide |
Media types
According to the spec guide, the printer handles plain, recycled, coated, thick and thin papers, plus labels, transparencies and envelopes. Each of these is subject to size and weight limits and to the tray used, so check the spec guide before loading a specialty stock. The multipurpose tray is the place for heavier stock, envelopes and labels, since its upper limit (120 lb index) is higher than the cassette’s (90 lb index).

Expanding capacity with the PF-5110
The PF-5110 is the documented optional paper cassette for this model. It is worth considering if you print more than a few hundred sheets between refills. Confirm that the PF-5110 is listed for the PA2600cwx in your country, and check its availability, before you build it into your budget, because the sources do not establish stock or regional pricing for it.
Duplex printing
Automatic two-sided printing is standard on the PA2600cwx, according to both the U.S. product page and the spec guide. The sources do not state how much rated speed drops in duplex mode, so you cannot estimate double-sided job times from the published figures alone.
Connectivity, security and drivers
The spec guide lists the following connections:
- 10/100/1000BaseTX Ethernet
- USB 2.0
- 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi
- Wi-Fi Direct, for connecting devices without a router
The operation guide describes the interfaces as USB and Gigabit Ethernet with wireless LAN support, which matches the spec guide. The guide also lists these network and security protocols: IPsec, HTTPS, SNMPv3, IPPS, FTPS, LDAPS, and encrypted mail protocols.
Listed driver options are Kyocera KX, PCL, KPDL, and drivers for Mac, Linux and ChromeOS. Supported operating system and driver versions change over time, so check Kyocera’s support and download pages for the current list before buying, rather than relying on a version number from a 2025 document.

For setup, the launch announcement points to Kyocera’s Quick Setup Utility and a Wi-Fi setup process, and the operation guide identifies Kyocera’s network and setup utilities. The sources do not describe the setup steps themselves, so follow the on-screen and utility instructions that ship with your unit.
Consumables and running cost
The PA2600cwx uses separate black and color toner cartridges. The spec guide gives these model-specific part numbers and stated yields:
| Part number | Color | Stated yield |
|---|---|---|
| TK-5452 K | Black | 4,100 pages |
| TK-5452 C | Cyan | 3,200 pages |
| TK-5452 M | Magenta | 3,200 pages |
| TK-5452 Y | Yellow | 3,200 pages |
These yields are Kyocera’s stated figures from its 2025 spec guide. The sources do not state the test method or the page coverage used to arrive at them, so they are not a guarantee of what you will get from a cartridge. Replacement TK-5452 toner is the consumable to match on any listing you compare.

Working out cost per page
The sources contain no current toner prices, so cost per page cannot be stated. To calculate it yourself, divide the price you pay for each cartridge by its stated yield, then decide which colors a typical page uses. Keep in mind that a color page can draw on cyan, magenta and yellow together, so color costs add up faster than black-only costs. Test the result against your own page coverage, because a document heavy with color fills will consume more toner than a text-heavy one.

What Kyocera says about ownership cost
Kyocera’s launch announcement quotes Ravi Koul, Senior Director, Product Marketing at Kyocera Document Solutions America: “Our ECOSYS devices are designed to optimize user experience by ensuring high-quality printing while maintaining a low total cost of ownership.” This is the vendor’s own statement, not independent evidence of ownership cost.
The same announcement says: “The increase in toner yield (at 1,500 free initial toner) allows our customers to save money on startup costs.” This is a family-level claim made in the launch material. The sources do not confirm how much initial toner the PA2600cwx ships with in any particular country, so do not assume the 1,500 figure applies to the model you are buying.
Size, weight and placement
The U.S. product page gives external dimensions of 16.1 x 16.1 x 13.0 inches. The 2025.04 operation guide gives 410 x 410 x 329 mm. It lists the weight without toner as 21 kg (46.30 lb). The footprint is a desktop footprint, not a floor unit, but it still needs room for the paper trays and output tray. Measure your desk, and check the space needed for the PF-5110 if you plan to add it.
Warranty and support
The U.S. product page shows “NA” in its warranty field. That does not confirm any coverage, so do not infer a warranty from it. Check the warranty terms for your country with Kyocera or your seller before buying. The sources do not state warranty length.

What the evidence does not establish
The available sources are manufacturer documents and a launch announcement. They do not establish any of the following, so treat them as open questions for your own checks:
- Print quality on real pages, including text sharpness, color accuracy and banding
- Noise levels in use
- Real-world print speed, including duplex jobs and multi-page documents
- Reliability or failure rates over time
- Current retail prices, stock levels, or the cost of toner in your market
- Independent comparisons with rival color printers in the same class
The sources are dated 2025. Check for newer revisions of the spec guide and operation guide, and confirm that the product is still listed as current, before you rely on any figure here.
Who should buy it, and who should look elsewhere
A good fit if
- You print documents and do not need to scan, copy or fax from the same device
- You want color output on a desk-sized printer with duplex printing as standard
- You need wired or wireless network access, including Wi-Fi Direct for devices that are not on your network
- Your paper needs fit within the 120 lb index limit of the multipurpose tray
Look elsewhere if
- You need scanning or copying, in which case a multifunction model from the same launch family is the right direction
- You print regularly on stock heavier than 120 lb index, or on paper sizes larger than 8.5 x 14 inches
- You cannot confirm toner prices and a regional warranty, because running cost and support then remain guesses
Checklist before you buy
- Confirm that the model you are buying is the PA2600cwx, not the PA2101cwx or an MA multifunction model.
- Find the current local price of TK-5452 K, C, M and Y toner and work out cost per page using your typical color coverage.
- Check whether the PF-5110 is listed for the PA2600cwx in your country, and whether it is in stock.
- Check the warranty terms for your region directly with Kyocera or your seller.
- Confirm that your operating system has a current driver in Kyocera’s support and download pages.
- Check the spec guide for the weights and sizes of the specialty media you plan to use.
The PA2600cwx is a clearly specified printer-only option with a documented paper path, standard duplex and a range of network connections. Its real-world performance and running cost are still unproven in the sources available, so these questions need answers before a purchase.
