The Kogan KAQLED65XQ98JSTA is a discontinued 65-inch 4K QLED smart TV. Kogan’s guide lists a 60 Hz panel, Android 11, four HDMI inputs and 2 × 10 W speakers, but those are published specifications—not independent performance test results. CHOICE has a listing for this exact model, but its expert score and detailed findings are available to members only, so the public evidence does not support a verdict on picture quality, gaming, sound or reliability.
Which Kogan TV is the KAQLED65XQ98JSTA?
This review is about the exact model number KAQLED65XQ98JSTA, identified in Kogan’s guide as the 65-inch 4K UHD HDR QLED Smart Google TV, Series X, Q98J. It should not be confused with Kogan’s similarly named Q98G or Q98T televisions: their specifications cannot be assumed to apply to this set. Kogan’s 2022 user guide and CHOICE’s listing refer to the exact KAQLED65XQ98JSTA.
What the published specifications say
The figures below come from Kogan’s 2022 user guide. They describe the manufacturer’s stated specifications, not independently measured results. Kogan notes that design and specifications may change without notice.

The 60 Hz figure is particularly important if you are comparing gaming specifications: a 144 Hz claim for another Q98-series model should not be carried over to the KAQLED65XQ98JSTA. Likewise, the listed response time and contrast ratio are specifications, not proof of how the television looks or feels in use. The exact model’s figures are in the Kogan user guide.

What independent review evidence is available?
CHOICE lists the KAQLED65XQ98JSTA and labels it discontinued. Its public page identifies the screen as 65 inches / 165 cm, gives the resolution as 3840 × 2160, and lists Android 11 and a one-year warranty. It also displays A$829, but that figure does not establish a current selling price. CHOICE’s public listing withholds its expert rating and detailed picture, sound, interface, energy and other test results behind membership.
As a result, the accessible evidence does not establish a tested verdict on image quality, HDR performance, gaming responsiveness, interface speed, audio quality, reliability or long-term ownership. A specification sheet cannot answer those questions, and the hidden CHOICE results should not be guessed at.

- Direct LED Backlight: Enjoy uniform brightness and rich contrast for a vibrant, immersive viewing experience.
- High Dynamic Range (HDR) with Dolby Vision: Enjoy enhanced contrast, accurate colors and fine details utilizing all the most advanced HDR formats.
- Dolby Atmos Audio: Advanced spatial audio processing can be found in movies, TV shows, and video games.
Is it still worth considering?
That depends first on whether you can find the exact model and verify the transaction terms. Because CHOICE identifies it as discontinued, a search result or old product page is not evidence that a particular seller has stock. Before buying, confirm:
- The listing explicitly names KAQLED65XQ98JSTA, rather than a Q98G, Q98T or another similar model.
- The item is actually available, and the price, seller identity, delivery conditions and return policy are current.
- The warranty offered for that particular sale is stated clearly; CHOICE’s listing identifies a one-year warranty, but the seller’s current terms should be checked.
- You are comfortable making a decision without a publicly accessible independent score or detailed test results for this exact model.
Do not rely on a displayed A$829 figure as today’s market price. It appears on CHOICE’s listing, not as confirmation of a current offer.

Wall mounting and audio connections
Check the mount and wall
Kogan’s guide specifies a 300 × 200 mm VESA pattern and a television weight of 19.1 kg. Confirm that a mount supports both the pattern and weight, and use fasteners appropriate to the wall and installation. Kogan’s safety guidance warns: “Never place a television set in an unstable location. A television set may fall, causing serious personal injury or death.”
Match audio equipment to the available outputs
The guide lists HDMI ARC on HDMI 1, optical audio output and a 3.5 mm stereo audio output. These connections may help when checking compatibility with an audio system; the documentation cited here does not establish that any particular soundbar or cable is suitable.

Verdict
The KAQLED65XQ98JSTA is identifiable as a 65-inch 4K QLED television with a documented 60 Hz refresh rate, Android 11, four HDMI inputs and a 300 × 200 mm VESA pattern. But it is marked discontinued, and publicly available review information does not reveal enough test results to rate its real-world performance. Consider it only after verifying the exact model, current availability and sale terms—and do not substitute specifications from a similarly named Q98 set.
