Yes—there are fan-made multiplayer projects for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, but they do different things. KCD:MP is an open-beta server platform for free roam and role-play, not a way to play Henry’s campaign together. A separate early-access project, Kingdom Come: Together, says it supports campaign and side-quest co-op.
What multiplayer can you play in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II?
KCD:MP is the project behind the recent open-beta and public role-play server news. It lets players join or host multiplayer servers, where activities depend on the server and its game mode. The project describes itself as a fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Warhorse Studios or Deep Silver. KCD:MP’s open-beta announcement and official FAQ distinguish its shared-world play from the single-player story.

Two other projects have different aims. Kingdoms Connected presents itself as an open-beta multiplayer sandbox/server platform, while Kingdom Come: Together says it supports playing the campaign and side quests with a friend. Those are claims on the respective project listings; they should not be confused with KCD:MP or treated as independently verified compatibility and performance results.
Does KCD:MP let you play Henry’s story in co-op?
No. KCD:MP’s FAQ explicitly says it does not let players play Henry’s campaign together. Its open-beta announcement says the current public Basic RP server has no story quests and does not include the single-player cast. It is better understood as shared-server free roam and role-play than campaign co-op.

What happens on KCD:MP’s Basic RP server?
The public Basic RP server is described as a persistent role-play mode in Kuttenberg. The beta announcement lists other players, synchronized combat, horses, dogs, bows, crossbows and hand cannons, proximity voice, parties, and emotes. It also describes shared state for doors, gates, chests, merchant trading, time, and weather.
The FAQ says available activities depend on the server and mode. Basic RP supports text and voice role-play, riding, parties, and combat with other players. Jobs, farming, factions, and territories are listed as planned role-play systems that were not included in the modes shipped at the FAQ’s September 29, 2026 review.

Which project claims to support campaign co-op?
Kingdom Come: Together is the project most directly aimed at playing the campaign with a friend: its Nexus Mods listing says it supports the campaign and side quests using a host’s save. The listing labels it early access and says both players need the Steam version of KCD2 and the KCD2 Modding Tools build. This is the project’s own description, not independent confirmation of how reliably co-op works.

Which KCD:MP version and platform do you need?
The KCD:MP download page lists client build 0.38.0, dated October 3, 2026. That build requires Steam game version 1.5.6 and 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, with Steam running. The project FAQ says only the Steam edition is supported at present; Game Pass/Microsoft Store, Epic, and GOG editions do not have supported builds listed.

The download is an archive rather than a conventional installer. KCD:MP says its launcher checks the game version and leaves the game folder and single-player saves untouched.
Join a KCD:MP server
- Check the KCD:MP download page for the current client and compatibility requirements.
- Download and unpack the client archive.
- Start Steam and make sure KCD2 is on the required game build.
- Launch the KCD:MP client, enter a display name, then select a listed server or enter a friend’s server address.
- Join the server. If you encounter a version mismatch, check the download page and update the client or game as directed by the project.
Can you host a server, and how many players can join?
KCD:MP offers dedicated server downloads for Windows and Linux. Its October 2026 download page says the server uses .NET 10, a configuration file, Lua or C# game modes, and UDP, with port 7777 as the default. Running your own server is optional; the page also lists hosting partners for players who prefer a rented server.

The project FAQ reports that its team tested one server with 500 bots walking around and doing things simultaneously. That is a project-reported bot test, not a demonstrated limit for human players or a guarantee of performance at that load. The sources do not establish a comparable human-player capacity for these projects.

What to expect from a beta or early-access mod
KCD:MP’s announcement describes its build as early and warns that bugs are expected. The supported game version and project features can change; confirm the current download requirements before installing. For Kingdom Come: Together, the campaign co-op description remains an early-access project claim, so check its current listing for compatibility and setup details before both players commit to using it.
