Tom’s Guide reported a U.S. deal for the 16 GB Kindle Kids at $122, down from $179—a $57 saving. Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days are scheduled for October 6–7, 2026, so this is a reported early offer, not a price guaranteed to last through the event. Check Amazon’s live listing for the current price, stock, model generation, and included benefits before buying.
What the Kindle Kids deal includes
Tom’s Guide’s September 30, 2026, report lists the Kindle Kids (16 GB) at Amazon for $122 against a $179 reference price. The report describes a decorated cover, ad-free books, a glare-free display, and faster page turning. These details come from secondary retail coverage; they are not confirmation of the current Amazon listing or its terms. See Tom’s Guide’s deal report.
Amazon’s 2026 Kindle lineup coverage lists a 6-inch Kindle Kids with 16 GB of storage at $179 and says new Kids versions include 12 months of Amazon Kids+. The deal report also uses $179 as its reference price. Because a reference price and a product lineup listing do not prove that every live offer is the same generation or configuration, match the listing’s model and included benefits before comparing. When October Prime Day takes place
Amazon says Prime Big Deal Days 2026 returns October 6–7 and that early deals are already available. That makes the $122 Kindle Kids price a reported lead-up offer; there is no guarantee it will remain available, or that it will be the event price. Amazon’s event announcement.

Kindle Kids versus Kindle Colorsoft Kids
The discounted device in the deal report is the Kindle Kids 16 GB. It should not be confused with Kindle Colorsoft Kids, a separate color-screen model covered in Amazon’s event announcement. Color display may be useful for comics and illustrated books, but the Colorsoft’s features and subscription terms should not be assumed to come with the monochrome Kindle Kids offer. Check the exact model and included benefits on the listing. Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft Kids information.
Amazon reported that children who read graphic novels and comics spent 46% more total reading time than the average Kindle Kids reader in 2024. This is an Amazon-published comparison, not independent evidence that color screens cause children to read more.
