Kik does not notify someone when you block them. They can still send messages, but Kik says those messages are not delivered to you: the sender sees D, not R. Your profile picture and changes to it may still appear on their device. In a group chat, you see their messages marked BLOCKED MESSAGE.
What the blocked person sees
Kik says a person you block will not be told directly that they have been blocked. They can continue sending messages, but those messages do not reach you. Kik’s message-status guidance explains that the sender sees D beside a message and will not see it change to R, the read indicator. Kik Help Center: Block someone and Kik Help Center: Know if you’ve been blocked.
They may still see your profile picture
Blocking does not hide your profile picture from the blocked person’s device, and Kik says changes to the picture remain visible there. That guidance is specifically about the profile picture; it does not establish what happens to every other profile detail. Kik Help Center: Block someone.
