Kenzo Security announced a $4.5 million seed round on April 21, 2025, to develop its AI-powered security operations platform. Rapid7 announced its acquisition of Kenzo on March 26, 2026, shifting the story from a standalone startup to technology Rapid7 says it plans to integrate into its Command Platform and managed detection and response (MDR) operations.

How much did Kenzo Security raise?

Kenzo announced $4.5 million in seed financing on April 21, 2025. The General Partnership led the round; the company’s press release also named investor Michael Coates. Kenzo said the funding would support engineering and sales hiring as well as platform development. Kenzo’s launch announcement and its press release provide the company’s account of the financing.

In that 2025 press release, Kenzo said it had spent 18 months developing the platform and had 14 employees, with a plan to grow to 20 by year-end. Those are dated company-reported figures and hiring plans, not current headcount information.

What does Kenzo Security do?

Kenzo described its product as a security operations platform in which specialized AI agents work together using a proprietary security data mesh. The company said the platform covered investigations, detection, threat intelligence, risk-based alerting, and proactive threat hunting—not just initial alert handling. These are Kenzo’s descriptions of its product, not independently validated performance findings.

Kenzo’s framing was that coordinated agents could draw on shared security context across different tasks. In its launch announcement, CEO and co-founder Harish Singh wrote, “Security operations aren’t just about closing alerts. It’s about surfacing the most important insight to a human for action.” That statement expresses the company’s intended approach; the announcement does not establish how much decision-making an analyst retains in every workflow.

What did Kenzo say about its customers and onboarding?

In its April 2025 launch post, Kenzo said it supported customers in financial services, high tech, retail, and manufacturing. It also said organizations could get started using read-only API access to security tools. These statements describe the launch period; they do not confirm Kenzo’s customer base, onboarding requirements, or product status after its acquisition. Kenzo’s launch post is the source for those claims.

What changed after Rapid7 acquired Kenzo?

Rapid7 announced on March 26, 2026, that it had acquired Kenzo Security. Rapid7 said it planned to integrate Kenzo’s data mesh into the Rapid7 Command Platform and embed Kenzo AI models across its MDR operations. The announcement describes integration intent; it does not establish current product packaging, pricing, customer migration terms, or general availability. See Rapid7’s acquisition announcement.

How should readers interpret Rapid7’s reported results?

In its 2026 acquisition announcement, Rapid7 reported an average 94% reduction in investigation time and an increase in alert coverage from 12% to 100%. Rapid7 presented these as average customer results. The surfaced announcement does not provide a sample size or methodology, so the figures should be treated as company-reported claims rather than independently verified outcomes or a guarantee for every customer.

What remains unclear about Kenzo’s product today?

The acquisition announcements describe Rapid7’s intended use of Kenzo technology, but do not specify whether Kenzo remains available as a standalone product or how existing or prospective customers can access it through Rapid7. They also do not state pricing, packaging, migration arrangements, or general availability. Buyers evaluating the technology should seek current details directly from Rapid7 and ask how integrations, analyst review, auditability, and outcome measurement work in the offering available to them.

Kenzo was founded by Harish Singh and Partha Naidu. In its 2025 press release, the company described Singh as a repeat founder and founding engineer at Lacework and E8 Security, and Naidu as a former U.S. Air Force cyber operations leader who later led security product development at Datadog and CrowdStrike. These backgrounds are company-provided biographical descriptions. The same release quoted investor Dan Portillo of The General Partnership describing Kenzo’s technical depth; that is an investor’s assessment, not independent product validation.
