The Kenwood MultiPro Home FDP642BK is a 1000 W food processor and blender combo with a stated 3 L bowl, a more important 1.5 L processing capacity, and a separate 1.5 L liquidiser. Its listed attachments cover slicing, grating, fries, dough and whisking, but those specifications do not establish how well it performs in practice. CHOICE marks the model discontinued, so check that any listing is for the exact FDP642BK and confirm its bundle and price before buying.
What the Kenwood FDP642BK is
The FDP642BK is the black version of Kenwood’s MultiPro Home food processor. Kenwood Australia identifies it as a food processor with a separate liquidiser attachment. The manufacturer’s accessible specification sheet does not state a publication year.
This is a specification-based assessment, not a hands-on review. CHOICE lists the model as discontinued, but its detailed expert rating and performance results are available only to members. The public listing therefore does not establish a test score or show whether the machine excels or struggles with particular tasks.

Kenwood describes the plastic processor bowl as 3 L, with a stated processing capacity of 1.5 L. These are different measures: the bowl’s nominal volume is not the same as the amount Kenwood says it can process. For planning working loads, use the 1.5 L processing-capacity figure rather than assuming the bowl can be filled to its 3 L volume.

Controls, power and reported dimensions
The manufacturer lists a 1000 W motor and two speeds plus pulse. These figures describe the stated motor and controls; they do not, by themselves, prove processing speed, consistency or quality.

Appliances Online reports dimensions of 400 × 210 × 220 mm and a weight of 3.3 kg. CHOICE’s listing gives different figures: 40 × 22 × 26 cm and 3 kg. These are source-reported specifications, not measurements reconciled here. If the machine must fit a particular space or its weight matters, verify the dimensions and weight against the exact regional product documentation or seller listing.
What its performance evidence does—and doesn’t—show
CHOICE classifies the FDP642BK as a food processor/blender combo and lists categories including hard-food slicing, crumbing, shredding, pastry, emulsifying, blender performance and noise. The public page marks its expert rating and those detailed performance results as members-only. It cannot support a specific claim about how well the model handles any of those tasks.

Ice crushing
The product listing indicates pulse use for ice, but no controlled result is available here to establish how efficiently or consistently the FDP642BK crushes ice. If ice crushing is a deciding requirement, don’t treat the motor wattage or pulse control as proof of performance.
Dough and flour quantities
The stated tool set includes a dough tool, but the accessible product information does not give a flour limit. It therefore does not establish whether a 500 g flour load is suitable. Check the model’s instructions for a load limit before attempting a large batch.

The Kenwood FDP642BK instruction text warns: “The blades and discs are very sharp, handle with care.” It directs users to hold them by the finger grip, away from the cutting edge, when handling or cleaning.

- Use the supplied pusher to move food down the feed tube; never use your fingers.
Availability and buying checks
CHOICE lists the FDP642BK as discontinued. Its page displays $199, but that is a figure shown on the listing accessed in 2026, not a guarantee of a current price or an available offer. Check current stock and the exact model number before purchasing; confirm that the seller’s photos, description and included tools match FDP642BK rather than a similar MultiPro model.
Kenwood Australia’s support page identifies the model but does not provide a manual on that page. The available instruction text includes safety guidance, but don’t assume the support page currently offers a downloadable copy. Owners seeking replacement parts should verify compatibility for FDP642BK specifically before ordering.
