Those are the features Kenwood publishes for this model. This review covers what is in the box, what Kenwood says the machine is for, and how it differs from the FDM301SS and FDM307SS. It is a specification-based review: no independent testing of noise, cutting results, dough quality or durability was available for this model when this article was written.

The capacity row needs care. The 2.1 L figure is the bowl’s total volume. The 1.2 L figure is a liquid working capacity, and the catalogue gives a separate 1.2 kg dry capacity. A kilogram of flour and a litre of water are different measures, so the two numbers should not be read as one limit. Neither figure tells you how a specific recipe will behave.

The 2022 Kenwood catalogue gives all three models an 800 W rating and a 2.1 L bowl with 1.2 L working capacity. The differences are in the attachments and, for the FDM307SS, the blender. “Not stated” below means the 2022 catalogue entry does not list that item for that model. It does not mean the item is absent from the model.

In practical terms, the FDM304SS is the choice if the Express Serve and Express Dice attachments and the plastic 1.2 L blender are the parts you want. The FDM301SS is the catalogue’s citrus-press model. The FDM307SS adds a glass blender, a herb and spice mill, a citrus press and a juice extractor. Because a bundle is what a retailer actually sells, confirm the full kit before you compare prices.
Cleaning, parts and aftercare
- Dishwasher: Kenwood France says the accessories are dishwasher-compatible. It states the blender is not.
