What are the FDM785BA’s bowl and blender capacities?
There are two capacity figures in the Kenwood brochure: a 3 L food-processor bowl and a 1.5 L glass blender. CHOICE separately lists a 1500 mL capacity field, but its blender-capacity field is marked “not recorded”; do not use CHOICE’s field alone to identify which vessel that figure describes. That is a small, self-selected collection of user submissions, not a controlled test or a representative failure rate. What should you check before buying a discontinued FDM785BA?
- Confirm the identity and electrical compatibility. Check the model suffix on the appliance and box, then confirm the voltage and plug match your country. Do not assume a similarly named FDM785 variant is interchangeable.
- Get the exact bundle in writing. Compare the seller’s included parts with the brochure list, and ask which bowl, blender jar, discs, blades, whisk and storage case are actually present.
- Inspect the condition. For a used machine, request clear images of the bowl, lid, drive areas, blades, discs, blender jar and any parts that lock together. Ask whether the motor and each attachment have been checked; do not infer working condition from appearance.
- Check the seller’s terms. Confirm whether the unit is new, refurbished or used, and read the return, warranty and delivery terms before ordering.
