Kaseya announced it acquired INKY, an email security specialist for managed service providers (MSPs) and small and midsize businesses, on October 7, 2025. At DattoCon 2025, it also announced new backup products and previewed a cyber resiliency platform. INKY is an email security addition—not a backup product—and Kaseya said it would be available through Kaseya 365 User.
What Kaseya announced at DattoCon 2025
The October 7 announcements covered two different parts of Kaseya’s portfolio: email threat protection through INKY, and backup and recovery through Datto products. Kaseya framed INKY as part of a broader security platform and said it would be available through Kaseya 365 User. Those are Kaseya’s product and packaging claims; the announcement does not establish current availability or contract terms.
Kaseya CEO Rania Succar said the acquisition would help the company integrate INKY across its ecosystem and use platform data to inform the service. In the acquisition announcement, Succar said, “Kaseya is committed to being the indispensable partner that helps MSPs lead in this next chapter of IT and security.” Kaseya’s October 7, 2025 acquisition announcement describes the deal and the company’s positioning.
What INKY adds—and what it does not
INKY provides generative-AI-based email security aimed at MSPs and SMBs, according to Kaseya. Its role is to help address email-based threats; it is not one of the backup products announced at DattoCon. The distinction matters for MSPs assessing what the acquisition changes: INKY expands Kaseya’s security offering, while the Datto announcements address protection and recovery for other workloads.

- Easily store and access 2TB to content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition no software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
In a December 2025 ChannelPro report, Kaseya Chief Product Officer Jim Lippie described the move this way: “Knowing that we had to up our game with email security, we did exactly that.” Solarus Technologies CEO and co-founder Matthew Nikravesh told ChannelPro, “To be completely frank, Kaseya did not have a viable product around email security, and this acquisition proves that.” These are statements from Kaseya and an MSP customer, respectively, not independent comparative testing.
INKY founder Dave Baggett, identified by ChannelPro as Kaseya’s senior vice president and general manager of security suite, said, “To do perfect detection now requires you to look at signals outside of the emails themselves.” The comment signals the company’s view of how detection should work; it does not establish an independently measured detection rate. ChannelPro’s December 19, 2025 report also quotes MSP customers citing fewer tools and bundle economics as possible advantages.

Datto’s backup announcements
Kaseya announced Datto SIRIS 6 and Datto Backup for Microsoft Entra ID, and previewed a Cyber Resiliency platform at DattoCon 2025. The products address different workloads, so the announcement should not be read as a single unified backup capability.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Datto SIRIS 6
Kaseya described SIRIS 6 as 50% faster and said it scales from 2TB to 25TB. Those figures are vendor claims from the 2025 announcement, not independently verified benchmark results. The announcement does not provide enough evidence to infer how the speed comparison was measured or how performance will vary in a particular MSP environment.

Datto Backup for Microsoft Entra ID
ChannelPro reported that the Entra ID backup product was planned as both a standalone offering and an inclusion in Kaseya 365 User. It is intended to protect identity data such as users, groups, and roles. The announcement-level information does not specify restore granularity, recovery times, current availability, or the exact limits and terms of the bundle; confirm those details with current Kaseya product documentation before making a deployment decision.
Cyber Resiliency platform
Kaseya previewed a Cyber Resiliency platform at DattoCon 2025. A preview is not confirmation of a generally available product, and the announcement information does not establish its current release status or detailed capabilities.

How MSPs should assess the changes
For a service provider, the practical question is not simply whether Kaseya has added products, but whether each one fits the workloads and operating model the MSP supports. Email threat protection, system backup, and identity backup address distinct risks.
Recommended Free Tools
- Match coverage to the risk. Evaluate INKY for email security needs, SIRIS 6 for the systems and capacity it is intended to protect, and Entra ID Backup for identity data. Do not treat one as a substitute for another.
- Check delivery and contract terms. Verify whether the specific service is standalone, included in Kaseya 365 User, or offered under different terms for your account. The 2025 announcements do not establish current pricing or contract conditions.
- Validate recovery requirements. Before selecting a backup service, confirm supported workloads, restore options, recovery objectives, and operational procedures in current product documentation. The announcement details alone do not establish these capabilities.
- Separate specifications from proof. Treat SIRIS 6’s speed and capacity figures as Kaseya’s stated claims. Customer comments about tool consolidation or value are useful context, not controlled comparisons.
- Plan any transition carefully. ChannelPro reported that Kaseya planned to sunset Graphus, its earlier email security product. That report is transition context, not confirmation that a sunset has been completed; verify current status and migration requirements with Kaseya before changing a service.
The announcement presents a broader Kaseya portfolio, but it does not by itself establish comparative efficacy, current bundle availability, or the operational details MSPs need to plan deployment. Those points require current product and contract information.
