For official Kansas football player availability, check the Big 12 Conference’s football availability-reporting portal. The Big 12 says football reports are posted at 9 p.m. Central Time beginning three days before a game, with a final report 90 minutes before kickoff. Because a player’s listing can change, use the latest report for the game you’re following and check again near kickoff.

Check the portal again close to kickoff. The Big 12’s 2025 announcement says the final report is issued 90 minutes before kickoff; the latest report is the most current official availability information under that schedule.
The Big 12 states that reports are housed exclusively at Big12Sports.com. Its August 13, 2025 announcement describes that reporting arrangement. For schedules, team news, and media context, use Kansas Athletics’ football page; a team news item or press conference is not a replacement for the conference availability report.

When reports are posted
The Big 12’s published football policy calls for daily submissions beginning three days before each game, with reports posted at 9 p.m. CT. The conference’s 2025 announcement specifies a final report 90 minutes before kickoff. These are publication timings, not a promise that a status will remain unchanged until the game.

| Weekly label | Big 12 policy meaning |
|---|---|
| Available | The player will play. The policy also says to use this designation when a player who appeared on an earlier report is now expected to participate. |
| Probable | Probable to play; the policy associates the label with a 75% chance to play. |
| Questionable | Uncertain to play; associated with a 50% chance to play. |
| Doubtful | Unlikely to play; associated with a 25% chance to play. |
| Out | Will not play; associated with a 0% chance to play. The definition includes injury, illness, suspension, eligibility or legal issues, and personal matters. |
| Out (1st Half) | A first-half suspension under the NCAA targeting rule. The policy does not state a chance-to-play percentage for this category. |
For game-day reports, the listed categories are available, game time decision, and out. The Big 12 defines “game time decision” as a situation in which coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the player during pregame warmups before deciding whether they can participate.

“Out” is not synonymous with “injured.” The conference’s definition includes several non-injury reasons, so the label alone does not identify why a player will not participate.

A status is not a diagnosis. Do not infer an injury type, severity, or recovery timeline from an availability designation. Look for a separate team announcement or attributable reporting if you need an explanation.

Availability is not a playing-time forecast. A player listed as available may still have a limited role; the report concerns expected participation, not minutes, snaps, role, or performance.
