The JMGO N1S Ultimate is a bright 4K triple-laser projector whose rotating gimbal makes it unusually easy to aim at a wall or screen. Its strongest case is for buyers who want that positioning flexibility, built-in streaming, and a brighter image than JMGO’s N1S Ultra or Pro. The drawbacks are just as practical: there is no optical zoom or lens shift, digital corrections can cost image detail, and its price varies sharply by region and promotion.
For a fixed, carefully planned setup, the gimbal may not justify paying more than a sibling model. For a room where the projector must point in several directions or sit off the ideal axis, it can be a meaningful convenience.
What the JMGO N1S Ultimate offers
JMGO describes the N1S Ultimate as a 4K triple-laser projector using its MALC 2.0 light engine. The company’s US product page lists 3300 ISO lumens, Google TV 3.0, certified native Netflix, and a gimbal with 360° horizontal and 135° vertical movement. These are manufacturer specifications and feature claims, not guarantees of the same brightness or image quality in every room. JMGO’s US product page
RTINGS lists a 40–300-inch image range and a 1.2:1 throw ratio. Those figures describe the product’s stated operating range and optics; the screen size you can use well depends on the room, throw distance, and light conditions. RTINGS’ N1S Ultimate review

Brightness: strong claims, different measurements
There is no single brightness figure that reconciles the available specifications and review test. Lumens are reported under different labels and conditions, so do not read the figures below as directly interchangeable:
| Source | Brightness figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| JMGO US product page | 3300 ISO lumens | Manufacturer specification; JMGO also markets the projector as daylight-ready. |
| ProjectorCentral-hosted specification sheet | 3500 ANSI lumens | Advertised specification using an ANSI label; the sheet’s publication date is not established here. Specification sheet |
| Tom’s Guide, May 23, 2025 review | 2,538 lumens in its test; 3,340 lumens in ultra-bright mode | Review measurements from Tom’s Guide’s test. It observed a green cast in the ultra-bright mode. Tom’s Guide review |
ISO and ANSI labels, manufacturer specifications, review measurements, and different picture modes are not one standardized real-world result. JMGO’s claim of clear images in bright rooms is the company’s positioning, not a guarantee that the projector will overcome daylight on every screen. For demanding ambient-light conditions, room darkening and screen choice still matter.
Picture quality and color
The triple-laser design is aimed at a wide color range, but advertised gamut and measured coverage are different kinds of claims. The ProjectorCentral-hosted sheet lists 110% BT.2020, while Tom’s Guide measured 97% DCI-P3 and 94% Rec. 2020 coverage in its described setup. Those figures should not be treated as direct equivalents: one is an advertised gamut figure and the others are review coverage measurements.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →RTINGS notes that it found proper Rec. 2020 only in Vivid picture mode and reports accuracy limitations. That matters if you prefer a natural-looking image over maximum saturation: the brightest or most colorful preset may not be the most faithful. For HDR, RTINGS lists HDR10 support, while Tom’s Guide’s specification table lists HDR10 and HLG. The sources differ, so confirm the exact regional model and firmware if HLG matters to your setup; the available evidence does not establish Dolby Vision support.

Gimbal convenience does not replace optical placement controls
The integrated gimbal is the projector’s most distinctive practical feature. It lets you physically point the projector across a wide horizontal arc or up and down without repositioning the whole unit. That can help when projecting onto a wall, ceiling, or screen that is not directly in front of the projector.
However, the N1S Ultimate has no optical zoom or lens shift, according to RTINGS. Its 1.2:1 throw ratio means image size is largely determined by distance from the screen; it cannot optically zoom to compensate for an unsuitable position. Gimbal movement changes aim, but it does not give the placement freedom of lens shift.
JMGO’s FlexiSmart automatic focus and keystone corrections can help align the image, but Tom’s Guide found automatic fitting and focus imperfect. Digital keystone correction reshapes the picture electronically and reduces the active image pixels, so it is better to place the projector as squarely as practical and use correction sparingly. Streaming, ports, and external devices
JMGO lists Google TV 3.0 and certified Netflix, giving the projector built-in streaming rather than requiring an external stick for basic viewing. RTINGS lists Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-A, and two HDMI 2.1 ports, one with eARC. JMGO support confirms that streaming devices such as Fire TV Stick, Roku, or Apple TV can be connected with compatible 4K-capable cables. JMGO support

- Official Google TV Ecosystem & Native Netflix: All your favorite content in one place. Stream natively from Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and Disney+ through the official Google TV OS. This home cinema projector features built-in Chromecast and Google Assistant for easy voice searches. With upgraded 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, navigating menus and loading heavy apps is lightning fast and totally lag-free.
For sound, JMGO lists 3.5 mm, HDMI eARC, and Bluetooth audio output. eARC is the most relevant option for a soundbar or receiver that supports it; Bluetooth offers a wireless route, while 3.5 mm suits analog equipment. Check your intended device’s connection and audio-format requirements before choosing a route.
Gaming: workable for casual play, not a low-lag specialist
Tom’s Guide measured 144 ms of input lag without game mode and 47 ms with game mode. These are that publication’s measurements, not a guarantee for every signal or setup. The game-mode result may be acceptable for casual or slower-paced play, but players sensitive to controller delay should treat it as a significant limitation. The available sources do not establish an independent high-refresh-rate performance claim.
Built-in speakers: convenient, but modest
JMGO markets 20W audio and a 45Hz low-frequency claim. Tom’s Guide describes two 10W speakers and found them modest relative to the image, reporting that its listening experience did not reproduce the claimed low-frequency range meaningfully. That makes the built-in audio convenient for casual viewing, but a poor reason to choose the projector if sound quality is a priority. External audio can connect over HDMI eARC, Bluetooth, or 3.5 mm.
How it compares with the N1S Ultra and N1S Pro
RTINGS lists brightness tiers of 3300 lumens for the N1S Ultimate, 2800 for the N1S Ultra, and 2250 for the N1S Pro 4K. These are the figures reported by RTINGS, not independent brightness measurements under one common test. The Ultimate’s advantage is the higher listed brightness; whether it is worth paying extra depends on the actual regional prices and how much brightness your screen and room need.

| Model | Brightness listed by RTINGS | Decision point |

| JMGO N1S Ultimate | 3300 lumens | Consider when the higher listed brightness and gimbal flexibility matter. |
| JMGO N1S Ultra | 2800 lumens | A lower listed brightness tier; compare current local pricing and required placement features. |
| JMGO N1S Pro 4K | 2250 lumens | The lowest listed brightness tier among these three; may be sufficient if the room and screen do not call for the Ultimate’s brighter specification. |
JMGO’s US listing showed $1,499 against a crossed-out $2,799 at the time reflected by the product page, while its EU page showed €1,420 against €2,899. Mounting, bundles, and setup checks
JMGO lists bundles with a 100-inch portable screen, a floor stand, and a ceiling mount. These are options rather than requirements. Before buying a mount, check the exact hardware and configuration: JMGO support says the projector has no universal screw hole and points to a dedicated suspension bracket when the base is detached. JMGO support · JMGO product listing
- Measure the intended projector-to-screen distance against the 1.2:1 throw ratio.
- Choose a screen size and room setup that suit the available light rather than assuming a high lumen claim will make every daylight placement work.
- Position the projector as squarely as possible to limit digital keystone correction.
- Confirm the precise regional model and firmware if a particular HDR format is essential.
- Verify mount compatibility and included bundle contents with the seller before purchase.
Who should buy the JMGO N1S Ultimate?
It is a better fit for buyers who want a bright 4K triple-laser image, built-in Google TV and Netflix, and a projector that can be aimed in unusual directions without moving its entire base. It is less compelling for buyers who need optical zoom or lens shift, prioritize accurate color without mode adjustments, play latency-sensitive games, or expect strong built-in bass. The gimbal is useful, but it does not eliminate the need to plan throw distance, screen placement, and mounting.
