Yes—the JLab Epic Sport ANC 3 is designed to stay put during workouts, and independent reviewers found its over-ear hooks secure during running, cycling, jumping and strength exercises. That is not a guarantee for every ear: comfort and the seal depend on fit. At the $104.99 price shown on JLab’s US listing on October 5, 2026, the case is strongest if you want hook-based retention, long per-charge battery life and customizable controls. Its noise cancellation is a notable compromise: Tom’s Guide found it weak.
Do the JLab Epic Sport ANC 3 stay in during workouts?
The defining feature is a flexible over-ear hook that anchors each earbud, rather than relying on the shape of a conventional in-ear bud alone. JLab says the ergonomic hooks are intended to hold during workouts. In separate reviews, SoundGuys reported that they stayed secure while jogging, biking and jumping; Tom’s Guide also found a secure fit during long runs and jumping strength exercises. These are reviewer experiences, not a guarantee that every ear will fit the same way.
SoundGuys reviewer Adam Birney summed up his own fit: “The earhooks fit snugly and comfortably around my ears.” His review, published May 30, 2025, says he tested the earbuds for five days on firmware 2.9.8; the company supplied the review unit. [SoundGuys review]
Retention and sound quality both depend on choosing a gel tip that seals your ear canal. JLab includes three sets of gel tips. If the hooks feel secure but bass sounds thin or the earbuds feel uncomfortable, try the other included tip sizes before deciding the fit is wrong. Are they protected against sweat and rain?
JLab lists an IP66 rating and describes the earbuds as protected against sweat and dirt. SoundGuys considers them suitable for sweat and light rain. How good is the noise cancellation?
The earbuds offer three modes: ANC On, ANC Off and Be Aware, which lets outside sound through. JLab describes the system as hybrid active noise cancellation using internal and external microphones. Having ANC is useful when you want to reduce distractions, but it should not be confused with strong noise isolation: Tom’s Guide found the ANC weak. Battery life: what can you expect?
Tom’s Guide reports about nine hours per charge with ANC on and up to 12 hours with ANC off. Those independent per-charge results are more useful for planning a workout week than case-inclusive marketing totals, though actual runtime can vary with settings and use. [Tom’s Guide review]

Sound, controls and workout features
JLab lists a 10 mm dynamic driver paired with a Knowles balanced-armature driver. SoundGuys describes the tuning as bass-forward, which may suit workout playlists, but that is a reviewer’s characterization rather than a measurement of sound quality.
