Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos says the company may go public someday, but he put an IPO several years away—not on a scheduled timetable. His comments do not announce a filing, offering date, share price, or current way for the public to buy Blue Origin shares.
Will Blue Origin have an IPO?
Possibly, according to Bezos. In an October 7, 2026 interview on Fox News Channel’s Special Report with Bret Baier, he said: “I think, someday, Blue Origin will have an IPO… It would be several years from now. But it probably makes sense for Blue Origin to be a public company at some point,” Reuters reported.
That is Bezos expressing a view about a possible future listing. It is not a formal company announcement or commitment to take Blue Origin public. The Reuters account does not establish whether the company has filed IPO registration documents, and it gives no specific timetable.
When will Blue Origin go public?
There is no confirmed date. Bezos’s only timing guidance was that an IPO would be “several years from now.” That describes his expectation, not a scheduled launch for the stock.

Reuters reported that Blue Origin had raised $10 billion from outside investors in what it described as the company’s first outside funding round. The Wall Street Journal, as reported by Reuters in September 2026, put the round’s valuation at $140 billion. That is a reported valuation for a private funding round—not an IPO valuation, offering price, or confirmed share price.
Why is Blue Origin discussing public-company status?
Blue Origin has largely relied on Bezos for funding while also winning multibillion-dollar NASA and U.S. Space Force contracts, including work connected to the Artemis program, according to Reuters. Bezos told Reuters he had personally invested $28 billion in the company since its founding in 2000.

- WE IGNITE IMAGINATIONS: Since 1958, Estes has created educational rocket kits designed for an unforgettable launch experience. As a family-owned company, we have grown to offer exciting STEM products that engage aspiring rocketeers and the future minds of aerospace.
The company also faces execution challenges in its effort to compete in commercial launches. Reuters reported that a May 2026 launch-pad explosion during a static-fire test delayed those efforts. Bezos said he planned for the New Glenn rocket to fly again in December 2026; that was a stated plan, not a verified outcome.
Reuters contrasts Blue Origin’s position with SpaceX, which it describes as the dominant player in the commercial launch market and says listed in June 2026. That narrow comparison does not determine when—or whether—Blue Origin will list.

Can I buy Blue Origin stock?
Bezos’s comments do not mean Blue Origin shares are currently available to public investors. The reported account describes a possible future IPO, not an active offering. It provides no public ticker, offering documents, or instructions for purchasing shares.
Until the company announces an offering and makes the relevant documents available, the $140 billion figure should not be treated as a price at which an individual can buy stock. It is a reported valuation for a private funding round.
