JBL’s official US product page lists the PartyBox 330 at $499.95, shown against a $629.95 comparison price and labeled 21% off. That is the source of the “$500, 21% off” figure. The page is JBL’s own store, though, and we could not confirm that Amazon is selling the speaker at that price, from that seller, or with that discount. Treat the Amazon part of the claim as unverified until you check the live listing yourself.
What the price evidence actually shows
Three price points are in play, and they come from different places. Keeping them apart is the easiest way to avoid being misled by a discount badge.
| Source | Price | Date | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|---|
| JBL official US product page | $499.95, shown against a $629.95 comparison price, labeled 21% off | Observed October 9, 2026 | The current JBL-store offer. It is a single-day page observation, not a price history. |
| HARMAN launch announcement | $629.95 announced US price | 2026 | The manufacturer’s launch price. It is not a current reference price for any retailer. |
| Amazon | Not established. No Amazon listing, seller, stock level, or discount basis was verified for this article. | Not applicable | Must be checked on the live listing (see steps below). |
The arithmetic on JBL’s page holds up: $130 off $629.95 is about 20.6%, which rounds to the 21% shown. The “$500” in the headline is also a rounding of $499.95, a five-cent difference. Neither figure says anything about what Amazon charges.
How to check the Amazon offer before you buy
- Search Amazon for “JBL PartyBox 330” and open a listing whose title names the exact model. Similarly named JBL party speakers exist, so confirm the model number before comparing prices.
- In the buy box, read the “Ships from” and “Sold by” lines. If Amazon is not listed as the seller, the price is set by a third party, and the “$500” figure does not describe an Amazon offer.
- Find the reference price the listing uses for its discount, usually a struck-through “List Price” or similar label. Ask what it represents. If the listing gives no basis for the 21% label, you cannot verify it from the page.
- Check stock availability and the return terms shown before you place the order.
- Compare the Amazon price with JBL’s store and at least one other retailer on the same day. Speaker prices move, so a price checked last week is not a reliable reference.
Core specifications
The figures below come from JBL’s product page and HARMAN’s 2026 specification sheet. Where JBL qualifies a number, the qualification is included.
#1 Best Overall
- Control from anywhere with JBL One app: You can control this speaker using the JBL One App from anywhere in the party, so you can change the song or adjust the lightshow from the dance floor. *IMPORTANT* Make sure to download the JBL One app and update your PartyBox prior to first use.
- Compatible with JBL EasySing Mics (sold separately): The PartyBox 330 works seamlessly with JBL EasySing Mics, so karaoke moments are always on deck. EasySing’s AI vocal removal can pull back the original lead vocals from your favorite songs, turning them instantly into karaoke tracks. Just plug-in and go—no extra setup, no fuss. It’s an easy way to give everyone a chance to shine without slowing the night down.
- Bring the energy with JBL legendary sound: Crank it up and experience what 280 watts of legendary JBL sound feels like. Dual 6.5" woofers bring deep, chest-hitting bass, while twin 25mm PEN dome tweeters keep hooks sharp and harmonies clear. All while a wider soundstage pulls everyone into the mix. The whole crowd will feel it—not just the front row.
- AI Sound Boost makes everything hit harder: AI Sound Boost reads your music in real time and predicts driver movement to max out your bass and volume while minimizing distortion. Translation: bigger, cleaner sound that stays punchy even when you crank the music all the way up.
- Adaptive futuristic lightshow: A futuristic lightshow that actually dances with you. Sweeping ripple light trails and punchy strobes all sync to the beat—and with a variety of patterns to play with, you can match the lights to every mood the night throws at you.
| Specification | JBL-stated value | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Output | 280 W RMS | A rated figure from JBL’s spec sheet; no independent measurement is established here. |
| Drivers | Two 6.5-inch woofers and two 25 mm tweeters | Driver configuration as listed by JBL. |
| Frequency response | 40 Hz to 20 kHz (-6 dB) | The -6 dB range is the point where output falls to half power, not a flat-response claim. |
| Battery | JBL Battery 400, 68 Wh | JBL says the battery can be swapped; the spare is sold separately. A matching retail replacement was not verified. |
| Music playback | Up to 18 hours | JBL states playback varies with volume level and audio content. |
| Charge time | Three hours | Stated with the speaker switched off. |
| Net weight | 17.1 kg (37.7 lb) | Net weight as listed by JBL. |
| Dimensions | 13.15 × 26.08 × 14.76 inches | As listed by JBL. |
| Ingress protection | IPX4 | Splash resistance only. The speaker is not waterproof. |
Battery runtime in practice
The “up to 18 hours” figure is conditional. JBL ties it to volume and content, which means a louder set will draw more power than a quiet one. For planning, read 18 hours as the upper end of what the battery can deliver under favorable conditions, not a runtime you can count on for a full evening at party volume. JBL’s three-hour charge time is also stated with the speaker off, so it does not describe charging while the speaker is in use.
If you expect long events, the spare Battery 400 is the only battery route JBL describes. Check that a compatible replacement is actually available before you rely on swapping it in.

Transport and weather
Weight and wheels
At 17.1 kg, the PartyBox 330 is a rolling unit rather than something to carry any distance. JBL lists a telescopic handle and wide wheels, which is the intended way to move it. Check that the handle and wheels suit the surfaces you plan to cross, such as grass or gravel, before assuming the speaker will roll easily there. JBL’s materials do not address that.

IPX4 means splash resistance
IPX4 indicates protection against water splashed from any direction. It does not mean the speaker can be submerged, left in rain, or used in a pool. Keep it under cover in wet weather and dry it after exposure.

JBL describes the speaker this way: “The JBL PartyBox 330 is here to bring the deep, punchy bass and crisp highs you crave while its wide soundstage and AI Sound Boost keep sound big, loud, and clear—even when you go full throttle on the volume.” That is promotional copy, and it describes JBL’s intent rather than a measured result. No independent listening test is established for this article.

The Bottom Line
The $500 figure is a rounding of JBL’s own US store price of $499.95, measured against a $629.95 comparison price on October 9, 2026. Whether Amazon offers the same price, sells the speaker directly, and backs the 21% label with a real reference price is still unverified, so check those points on the live listing before you buy.
