The JBL Live 670NC is a feature-rich wireless on-ear headphone with adaptive noise cancelling, ambient listening modes, multipoint Bluetooth and a detachable audio cable. Its standout is JBL’s long battery-life claim; the main trade-offs are the on-ear fit and noise cancellation that independent reviewers say has limits. It is worth considering if you want those features in a compact on-ear design, but it is a less obvious choice if you need strong isolation or dependable calls in noisy places.
What the JBL Live 670NC offers
JBL’s product information describes the Live 670NC as an on-ear wireless headphone with True Adaptive Noise Cancelling and Smart Ambient. The 2023 specification sheet lists 40 mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.3, a weight of 219 g, foldable construction and support for the JBL Headphones app. JBL also lists a detachable audio cable, Bluetooth multipoint, spatial sound, auto play/pause and voice-assistant access. These are manufacturer-stated features, not claims about how well each performs in every setup. See JBL’s product page and JBL’s 2023 specification sheet.
The specification sheet said LE Audio support was expected through a later over-the-air update. That statement does not establish that the feature is available now: check the headphone’s firmware, region and connected device before relying on it.

The Live 670NC includes adaptive ANC, but that feature should not be taken to mean that it blocks all surrounding sound. SoundGuys reports that its ANC is more effective against low-frequency noise than higher-frequency sound. Tom’s Guide likewise characterizes the noise reduction as limited. In practice, the reviews suggest treating ANC as a useful aid rather than a guarantee of quiet, particularly in noisy environments. SoundGuys’ review and Tom’s Guide’s review provide their respective assessments.
#1 Best Overall

- Bluetooth 5.3 with LE audio supported*: Wirelessly stream high-quality sound even at lower bit rates with Bluetooth 5.3. Audio Mode gives the best available sound while Video Mode ensures the sound and visuals are always in sync. *Available via OTA update
- True Adaptive Noise Cancelling with Smart Ambient: With four noise-sensing mics, True Adaptive Noise Cancelling means zero distractions whether you’re focusing on studying or getting lost in the music. Or turn on Smart Ambient to hear your surroundings.
- Up to 65 hours* of battery life and speed charge: Listen wirelessly for up to 50 hours and recharge the battery in as little as 2 hours with the convenient Type-C USB cable. In a hurry? A quick 5 min charge gives you 4 hours of music. *BT on/ANC off
- Auto play and pause: Take the headphones off, the music stops. Put it back on, the music starts again. It genuinely couldn't be simpler.
JBL also advertises Smart Ambient, intended for listening to nearby sound rather than shutting it out. This can suit situations where you want some awareness of your surroundings, though the cited reviews’ favorable comments about ambient modes do not establish a uniform experience for every listener.
How long does the battery last?
JBL’s 2023 specification sheet claims up to 65 hours of music playback with Bluetooth on and ANC off, or up to 50 hours with Bluetooth and ANC on. These are manufacturer-stated maximums, not independently verified runtime for every listener; actual playback time depends on conditions and use. JBL also claims that a five-minute charge provides four additional hours of music under its stated conditions. See the specification sheet for the figures and qualifications.

What does it sound like?
RTINGS describes the Live 670NC’s sound as bass-forward and notes that the companion app’s EQ can help tailor it. That is a reviewer’s assessment, not a promise that the tuning will suit every listener. If you prefer a more neutral presentation, consider the reported bass emphasis and the EQ option when deciding whether this model fits your tastes. Read RTINGS’ review for its evaluation.
Are the Live 670NC comfortable and portable?
These are on-ear headphones: the earcups rest on the ears rather than surrounding them. That fit is a personal preference, so consider whether you tolerate pressure on the ears or would rather have over-ear coverage. RTINGS notes stability and portability drawbacks in its review; those observations are worth weighing alongside the model’s foldable construction and listed 219 g weight. Neither a listed weight nor one review can predict comfort for every head and ear shape.

- Power that keeps up: With up to 80 hours* of battery life, your music goes further than ever. And when you’re running low, just a 5-minute speed charge gives you 4 more hours of playtime, so you’re never without your soundtrack. (*With ANC off. Up to 50 hours with ANC on.)
Are they good for calls?
Independent reviewers report mixed microphone performance, with noisier conditions causing more difficulty. If you often take calls outdoors or in busy places, that trade-off deserves particular attention; the available reviews do not support treating the Live 670NC as a reliable choice for every noisy-call scenario. See RTINGS’ microphone assessment and Tom’s Guide’s review.

JBL lists a detachable audio cable for wired listening and Bluetooth multipoint, which lets the headphones connect to two Bluetooth devices at once. The product page describes switching between devices—for example, watching a movie on a tablet while remaining able to receive a call on a phone. The headphones also support the JBL Headphones app, where RTINGS notes an EQ for sound adjustment. These published capabilities do not, on their own, establish connection reliability or how convenient the controls will feel in day-to-day use.
