Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris are no longer teammates: Warren is listed first on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ depth chart, while Harris is listed with the New York Giants in NFL.com’s 2026 statistics. Their old Steelers comparison still offers useful historical context, but it is not a current backfield battle.
What teams are Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris on now?
As of October 4, 2026, the Steelers’ depth chart lists Warren first at running back and Rico Dowdle second. That is a snapshot of the listed order, not a guarantee of Warren’s weekly carries, targets, or share of the offense. Pittsburgh’s depth chart can change as the season and roster evolve.
NFL.com lists Harris with the Giants in 2026. He is not Warren’s current Pittsburgh backfield rival. Harris’s current line—13 carries for 58 yards in two games—is a small sample, not a dependable measure of his season-long role or production. NFL.com’s statistics page is the source for his current and historical figures.

Jaylen Warren or Najee Harris for fantasy?
There is no source-supported current consensus ranking or rest-of-season point projection here, so a precise points-based verdict would be misleading. For a decision between them, compare the role each is actually expected to have on his current team: projected carries, routes and targets, goal-line opportunities, team offense, health, and your league’s scoring rules. Warren’s listed first place and his latest full-season receiving production give him a concrete Pittsburgh role baseline; Harris’s substantial Pittsburgh workload is historical, and his current Giants usage needs to be assessed in its present context.

Warren’s latest full-season baseline: Pittsburgh in 2025
The Steelers report that Warren played 16 games in 2025, with 211 carries for 958 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, plus 40 receptions for 333 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Adding the team’s rushing and receiving figures gives 251 combined carries and catches, 1,291 combined yards, and eight total touchdowns; those combined totals are arithmetic derived from Pittsburgh’s figures, not a separately reported statistic. The Steelers also report that Warren was inactive because of injury in Week 4. The Steelers’ Warren profile provides the season figures.
Harris’s last full Pittsburgh baseline: 2024
Harris’s last full Pittsburgh season in NFL.com’s retrieved statistics was 2024: 263 carries for 1,043 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, plus 36 receptions for 283 receiving yards. Those figures show the rushing workload he handled in that season, but they belong to an earlier year and a different team situation. They should not be treated as a projection for his current Giants role.

Who has the safer fantasy role?
Warren has the clearer listed position on Pittsburgh’s current depth chart, but a depth-chart listing alone does not establish a touch share or make any player’s role safe. Harris’s older Pittsburgh workload demonstrates past volume, not current opportunity in New York. Neither the cited season lines nor the depth chart settle who will receive more carries, targets, or scoring chances going forward.

- Workload: Look for recent usage and the current depth-chart context, rather than projecting an old season’s carries forward.
- Receiving role: In formats that award points for receptions, routes and targets can matter alongside rushing attempts. Warren’s 2025 line documents 40 catches; it does not establish his current weekly target share.
- Scoring chances: Touchdowns are valuable but can vary considerably. A prior season’s touchdown total is not a promise of future goal-line work.
- Team and matchup context: Evaluate each player within his present offense and upcoming opponent, not as if they still share Pittsburgh’s backfield.
- Health: Check each team’s latest reports before making a weekly lineup decision. Pittsburgh’s injury index explains practice labels such as DNP, LP, and FP and game designations such as Out, Doubtful, and Questionable; its latest listed item is a Week 4 report dated October 1, 2026, and does not itself establish Warren’s individual status. Steelers injury reports and the Giants’ current report are more relevant to a current start-or-sit choice than an old injury note.
- League format: Receptions affect value differently in standard, half-PPR, and full-PPR scoring. Check your league’s settings before weighing Warren’s receiving production against Harris’s rushing history.
How to use the historical comparison
The most useful direct statistical comparison is between Warren’s 2025 Pittsburgh season and Harris’s 2024 Pittsburgh season, with the important qualification that these are different seasons and not a same-year contest. Warren’s cited 2025 totals show contributions as both a runner and receiver. Harris’s 2024 totals show a larger rushing workload in his final full Pittsburgh season. Neither historical line answers how either player will perform for his current team in 2026.
For fantasy decisions, use the older numbers to understand the type of production each has demonstrated, then prioritize current role evidence. Warren’s 2025 figures are a full-season baseline, whereas Harris’s cited 2026 line covers only two Giants games. Avoid comparing those two unequal samples as though they measure the players’ current relative ability.
