At New York Comic Con 2026, Nitrate Games showed the first trailer for Jay and Silent Bob’s Joint Venture and shared more details about the game, according to coverage published October 8, 2026. The game is a comedy farming simulation in which Jay and Silent Bob run a fictional weed farm. The reported plan is a Steam/PC release in late spring 2027, with a console version also planned for 2027. None of these dates is confirmed as final.

What was revealed at NYCC 2026

Before the event, GamesBeat reported that Nitrate Games planned to share gameplay, a trailer, and character announcements at New York Comic Con (GamesBeat, Oct. 8, 2026). Post-event reporting from ENMNEWS describes the trailer and additional details as shown (ENMNEWS, Oct. 8, 2026). The official game website identifies the title and publisher information (official game website).

In practical terms, the NYCC reveal confirmed three things:

  • A trailer exists and was shown publicly for the first time.
  • The game’s concept is a farm-management comedy built on the duo’s characters.
  • Character and setting details were added beyond the original announcement.

Everything described below comes from coverage and the publisher’s listing. None of it comes from hands-on play, and no review has been published.

#1 Best Overall

The game’s premise and reported features

A weed farm run by the duo

The premise is the central hook. Jay and Silent Bob are set up as operators of a fictional weed farm, and the comedy comes from that business setup. The Gematsu game listing frames the title as a farming simulation with a comedic tone.

Planting, growing, and expanding

Reported activities include planting and growing crops, then expanding or customizing the farm operation. Coverage does not describe the systems in depth, such as how crops are balanced or how much of a day is spent on tasks, so those details should be treated as unknown until the developer or publisher documents them.

Familiar characters and settings

The game draws on Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse. Coverage names characters and locations from across the film universe, including the Quick Stop and Mooby’s. Players meet these characters during play, which is the main link between the game and the films, comics, and related properties.

An original story

The game is reported to include an original storyline that runs alongside the farming activities. Coverage does not state how long the story is or how it is structured, so no length or chapter count should be assumed.

Release timing and platforms

The release plans reported so far are summarized below. These are current plans, not a fixed schedule or a guarantee.

Platform Reported timing Status Source
Steam / PC Late spring 2027 Planned, date not final ENMNEWS, Oct. 8, 2026
Console (specific systems) 2027 Planned; specific consoles not stated ENMNEWS, Oct. 8, 2026

No confirmed editions, price, or physical release were established in the coverage reviewed. If platform options change, the official game website is the place to check first.

Who is making the game

  • Publisher: Nitrate Games. Co-founder Daniel Kendrick discussed the company’s wider plans to bring established film and television properties into games (GamesBeat). That is company positioning, not independent evidence of commercial results.
  • Developer: Starworks Studios, per coverage from ENMNEWS and Gematsu.
  • Writer: Ernie Altbacker, per the same coverage.
  • Creative participants: Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes are reported to have been involved from the project’s start.
  • Story direction: ENMNEWS attributes to Nitrate co-founder Montana Sommese the view that the game continues Smith’s wider cinematic universe, with narrative updates intended to extend the story. Ongoing updates are a stated intention, not a confirmed content schedule.

How to follow the project

  • Check the official game website for announcements, release timing, and wishlist information.
  • Treat the late spring 2027 Steam/PC target and the 2027 console plan as provisional until the publisher confirms them.
  • Look for store availability on Steam before assuming a purchase route. The sources reviewed did not verify a store page, price, or boxed edition.
  • Wait for independent coverage or reviews before judging how the farming systems perform, since no one outside the reveal has reported playing the game.

The NYCC 2026 reveal establishes the game’s concept, its View Askewniverse ties, and the publisher’s plans. Gameplay depth, pricing, and final platform timing remain open until the developer and publisher provide more detail.
