A Jawbone UP2 takes about an hour to fully charge, according to Jawbone’s support instructions. The UP2 manual describes it as just over an hour, so treat that as a published estimate—not a guarantee for an individual band.
How long does the Jawbone UP2 take to charge?
Jawbone’s support document, dated June 29, 2015, estimates approximately one hour for a full charge. The UP2 manual says just over one hour. How to charge a Jawbone UP2
- Hold the band with its loop at the bottom.
- Connect the charging cable from the right side, aligning its pins with the contacts on the band. The magnetic connection holds the cable in place.
- Plug the cable into a computer USB port or a standard USB wall adapter.
- Check the band’s icons: they pulse while charging. When charging is complete, the icons stop pulsing and the runner icon glows.

How to tell when it is fully charged
Use the band’s indicators rather than relying only on elapsed time: pulsing icons mean it is charging; stopped pulsing icons and a glowing runner icon indicate a full charge, according to the manual. If those indicators do not match the expected state, the available instructions do not provide a separate diagnosis or timing adjustment for an older battery.

How long does a full charge last?
The UP2 manual states that a full charge lasts up to seven days, varying by use. This is a stated maximum, not a guarantee for every used band; the manual text does not quantify how battery age affects runtime. UP2 manual.
What to know about replacement charging cables
The UP2 uses a magnetic USB charging cable with pins that align to contacts on the band. A generic USB cable is not established as a substitute by the instructions, so any replacement listing should explicitly identify Jawbone UP2 compatibility and match the band’s connector.
