James Corden and Ruth Jones are reuniting for The Choir, an eight-episode comedic drama coming to Apple TV in 2027. They created and wrote the series and star as estranged siblings in a small English town, where a struggling local choir may help mend their relationship. Apple says production is underway; it has not announced an exact premiere date or episode-release schedule.
What is The Choir about?
Jones plays Lisa and Corden plays Ben, siblings who have not seen each other for several years. Ben has been living abroad, while Lisa has stayed in their small English town. After events take a bad turn, Ben is forced back to the life he left behind, the town he disliked and his estranged family. Apple describes a struggling local choir as a possible way for the siblings to begin healing their rift, but has not disclosed what brings Ben home.

Apple describes the show as a comedic drama about family, friendship, love and music. It is a new story with new characters—not a continuation of Gavin & Stacey. Apple calls it Jones and Corden’s first project together since Gavin & Stacey: The Finale. Apple’s announcement does not provide further plot details.
When will The Choir be released?
Apple announced The Choir on October 6, 2026, and says it is set to premiere globally on Apple TV in 2027. The announcement gives no exact date, month or episode-release pattern, so it is not yet possible to say whether episodes will arrive weekly or all at once.
