No. The video showing Jack White supposedly telling Trump supporters, “Don’t even think about listening to my music, you fascists,” was fabricated. AFP reported that the audio was very likely AI-generated, while the apparent video comes from a 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame speech in which White did not mention Trump, Trump supporters or fascism.
What Tim Burchett posted
On December 29, 2025, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett shared the clip on X. The post presented the synthetic line as if White had delivered it and added an insult comparing White’s appearance to the girl from The Addams Family.

Why the video is fake
The audio showed signs of voice cloning
AFP said the clip’s audio was assessed by Hiya.com’s voice-cloning detection tool as “very likely AI-generated.” That is the reported assessment of the tool, not an independent test conducted for this article.

The visuals were repurposed footage
The video appears to use footage of White speaking at The White Stripes’ Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in November 2025. In that speech, according to AFP, White did not discuss Donald Trump, Trump supporters or fascism.
The wording borrowed from a real dispute
The fabricated sentence resembles White’s separate 2024 Instagram warning to the Trump campaign not to use The White Stripes’ music. Jack and Meg White later sued Trump and his campaign over use of “Seven Nation Army” and subsequently dropped the case. That earlier dispute does not authenticate the new clip or prove that White said its words.

What Jack White said in response
On December 30, White said on Instagram that the congressman had reposted “an AI generated video, containing a false comment that I never said and refuted.” He also criticized Burchett’s appearance-based insult and his decision to amplify the clip.
As reported by Variety, White asked: “What kind of joke are we all living in now?”

The Independent reported Burchett’s explanation: “Of course I know it’s AI. Apparently sarcasm is dead.” That is Burchett’s account of his intent. It does not make the video authentic; the clip itself remains an AI-generated fabrication.
