Isomorphic Labs has not confirmed a $50 billion valuation or closed a new funding round. Bloomberg reported on October 8, 2026, that the AI drug-discovery company was in early fundraising talks at a possible valuation of at least $40 billion and as high as $50 billion. Bloomberg said the financing had not closed and details could change; Isomorphic Labs had not responded to Bloomberg’s request for comment as of that report.

What Bloomberg reported—and what it does not confirm

The reported $40 billion to $50 billion range describes a possible valuation being discussed, not a finalized price for the company. As of Bloomberg’s October 8, 2026 report, the talks were early-stage. The report did not specify a target amount to raise, definitive investors, final terms, or a completed transaction.

There is no confirmed new round to treat as a done deal. The valuation could change as talks progress, and the report does not establish whether investors will agree to the reported range.

How the reported talks compare with Isomorphic Labs’ last announced round

Isomorphic Labs announced a completed $2.1 billion Series B on May 12, 2026. The company said Thrive Capital led the round, with Alphabet and GV among participating existing backers; MGX, Temasek, CapitalG, and the UK Sovereign AI Fund were among the new investors. The announcement did not disclose the company’s valuation at that round.

Financing Status Valuation Publicly stated details
May 2026 Series B Completed and announced by Isomorphic Labs Not stated in the company announcement $2.1 billion raised; led by Thrive Capital, with named existing and new investors
Funding talks reported October 8, 2026 Early talks; not closed, according to Bloomberg Possible $40 billion or more, potentially as high as $50 billion Target raise amount, final terms, and definitive investor list not stated in Bloomberg’s report

These figures describe different things: $2.1 billion is the amount raised in the announced Series B, while $40 billion to $50 billion is the reported possible valuation in new talks. Because the prior valuation and final terms of any new financing are not disclosed, the available information does not support calculating a valuation increase or a multiple.

What Isomorphic Labs does

Isomorphic Labs develops a proprietary AI drug-design engine called IsoDDE and says it works on both partnered programs and wholly owned internal therapeutic programs. The company was founded in 2021, is headquartered in London, and has offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Lausanne, Switzerland. Founder and CEO Sir Demis Hassabis leads the company alongside President Max Jaderberg.

Isomorphic Labs said the May 2026 Series B proceeds would support development and deployment of IsoDDE, advancement of therapeutic programs toward the clinic, and hiring across AI, engineering, drug design, and clinical roles. Those were stated plans, not independently verified results. In its funding announcement, Hassabis called the round “a massive vote of confidence” in the company’s approach. Jaderberg said the engine provides a repeatable way to design medicines. Both statements reflect the executives’ view of their company, not independent validation of its performance.

Why its pharmaceutical partnerships matter—and what their figures mean

The company identifies Novartis, Lilly, and Johnson & Johnson as strategic industry partners. Announced collaboration economics can illustrate the commercial structure, but potential milestone ceilings are not revenue already earned:

  • Lilly: The 2024 collaboration included $45 million upfront and potential milestone payments of up to $1.7 billion, excluding the upfront payment and possible royalties.
  • Novartis: The 2024 collaboration included $37.5 million upfront and potential milestone payments of up to $1.2 billion, excluding the upfront payment and possible royalties.

Milestones depend on future events under the agreements. These announced maximums therefore should not be added to fundraising totals or described as cash already received.

What remains unknown

Bloomberg’s October 8 report did not provide a target raise amount, a definitive investor roster, final financing terms, or confirmation that the transaction closed. No official announcement confirming the proposed round was available in the reviewed sources as of that date. Until the company or investors announce a completed financing, the $50 billion figure remains a reported possible high valuation, not an established company valuation.
