Island announced a $250 million Series E on March 26, 2025, saying Coatue Management led the round and valuing the enterprise software company at $4.8 billion. The funding was intended to support Island’s enterprise browser business. It is no longer the company’s latest financing: Island announced a $400 million Series F at a $6.4 billion valuation on September 24, 2026.

What Island announced in its Series E

In its March 26, 2025 announcement, Island said it had raised $250 million in Series E funding. The company named Coatue Management as the lead investor and said existing investors also participated. Island reported a $4.8 billion valuation and approximately $730 million in total outside investment at that time.

TechCrunch’s same-day report on the round gave the valuation as $4.85 billion and named Insight Partners, Sequoia, and Canapi Ventures among participants. That is a minor rounding difference from Island’s stated $4.8 billion; the named investors should not be read as a complete list.

What Island’s Enterprise Browser does

Island describes its product as a Chromium-based browser that builds enterprise security, IT, data, access, and productivity controls into the browsing experience. The basic idea is to manage access and work activity within the browser employees already use to reach web-based tools, rather than treating the browser as a separate consumer application.

These are the company’s product descriptions, not independent findings about security effectiveness, user experience, or cost savings.

What Island reported about its growth

In March 2025, Island said it had approximately 500 employees and 450 customers. It also reported that annual recurring revenue had more than doubled each year since it emerged from stealth in February 2022. These are company-reported figures, rather than audited financial disclosures.

For context, the company’s funding announcement followed a Series D in 2024. Island did not identify every investor in the Series E announcement.

Island’s financing and positioning since the Series E

The Series E is a historical financing milestone, not the latest round. On September 24, 2026, Island announced a $400 million Series F led by Evolution Equity Partners and reported a $6.4 billion valuation. The company said existing and new investors participated.

In that 2026 announcement, Island also described itself as an “agentic control plane for enterprises,” saying its browser foundation had expanded to cover endpoints, networks, applications, and data, with governance for people and AI agents. This is Island’s description of its evolving product strategy.

Island’s Series E announcement quoted CEO and co-founder Mike Fey describing the Enterprise Browser as a way to adapt consumer browser software for enterprise users, IT departments, and security teams. That statement reflects the company’s characterization of its own product.
