Iceland Seafood International (ISI) has received a non-binding letter of intent concerning its 85% shareholding in Spanish seafood company Ahumados Domínguez. This is an expression of interest, not an agreed or completed sale: ISI says a transaction remains uncertain, and it has not named the sender, disclosed a price, or given a timetable.
What has ISI announced?
In an announcement dated 30 September 2026, Iceland Seafood International hf. said it had received a non-binding letter of intent regarding its 85% stake in Ahumados Domínguez S.A. The company stated: “The Letter of Intent is non-binding, and it remains uncertain whether a transaction will ultimately be completed.” Read ISI’s announcement.
In practical terms, the letter signals interest in a possible transaction but does not establish that ISI has agreed to sell, that a buyer has been selected, or that a sale will happen.
Who submitted the letter, and what is the proposed price?

What is Ahumados Domínguez, and what stake does ISI own?
Ahumados Domínguez is a Spanish seafood company known for smoked salmon and retail recognition in Spain. ISI acquired an 85% stake in September 2021 from the Mestanza family; Pedro Mestanza, then the company’s managing director, retained a 15% minority stake. ISI said at the time that the acquisition was intended to strengthen its position in Spanish retail and provide a platform for selling Icelandic cod products. How does the possible transaction compare with ISI’s 2021 acquisition?
