To compare Isaac Okoro with other NBA 3-and-D wings, start with role and defensive assignment—not a points-per-game ranking. Then weigh three-point volume and accuracy, availability, and contributions beyond shooting. Chicago’s 2025–26 regular-season review shows Okoro playing a substantial rotation role; it does not, by itself, establish how his defense compares with any particular wing.

Use Okoro’s 2025–26 season as a baseline

The Chicago Bulls’ 2026 season review records 63 regular-season games played, including 62 starts, and 26.9 minutes per game. Okoro averaged 9.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists, shooting .460 from the field and .330 from three. These figures describe his production and playing time; they do not tell you which opponents he guarded or how effectively he defended them. Chicago Bulls’ 2025–26 season review

Compare three-point accuracy with volume

A percentage is more informative when paired with attempts: a player who makes a high share of a few carefully selected shots may affect spacing differently from one who takes more attempts under tighter coverage. NBA.com lists Okoro at 1.2 made threes on 3.5 attempts per game, or 33.0%, in 2025–26. Its season statistics show his accuracy at 39.1% in 2023–24 and 37.1% in 2024–25 before that 2025–26 figure. The trend is worth noting, but those numbers do not explain the change or establish that it will persist. NBA.com player statistics

For a fair comparison, check each wing’s attempts per game alongside percentage, shot locations, and the kinds of looks he takes. Shot quality and openness matter: percentages alone do not show whether a defense is comfortable leaving a player open or whether he reliably converts contested attempts.

Judge defense by assignments, not reputation or box-score totals

Steals and blocks are incomplete measures of wing defense. A meaningful comparison asks whom each player is assigned to guard, how often he takes the primary matchup, whether he can switch across positions, and how he fares in relevant matchups. The available official figures establish Okoro’s role and basic production, but they do not provide enough opponent-assignment or tracking detail to rank him defensively against a specific peer.

Accordingly, neither his minutes nor his reputation as a 3-and-D player is proof that he is a better or worse defender than another wing. A defensible head-to-head claim needs comparable matchup, tracking, or carefully contextualized film evidence for both players.

Account for role, availability, and offense beyond threes

  • Role and minutes: Compare starts, minutes, and lineup responsibilities. Okoro’s 62 starts in 63 games and 26.9 minutes per game in the Bulls’ 2025–26 review indicate a regular rotation role, but do not define his entire tactical assignment.
  • Availability: Put games played beside per-game rates, and be cautious with short samples. A percentage or scoring rate from a brief stint is not directly equivalent to a full-season record.
  • Offense without the ball: Look for cuts, transition opportunities, and closeouts attacked, as well as turnovers and creation. Okoro’s 9.3 points and 1.6 assists per game provide context, but those totals alone do not establish efficiency or decision quality.

Keep peer comparisons genuinely comparable

OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges are familiar wings who may come up in comparisons. They can be starting points for questions, not a statistical ranking based on the figures cited here: the available material does not provide a complete, consistently matched set of their minutes, three-point attempts, and defensive assignments alongside Okoro’s. To make a direct comparison, collect the same-season role and shooting figures for each player, then examine comparable evidence about defensive matchups and availability.

Check listed size without treating it as defensive proof

Chicago’s 2025 acquisition announcement lists Okoro at 6 feet 5 inches and 225 pounds, while his NBA profile lists him at 6 feet 4 inches and 225 pounds. The one-inch discrepancy is a source difference, not a basis for inferring which positions he can guard. Nominal height and position labels do not establish the size or type of opponent a player can defend. Bulls acquisition announcement; NBA player profile
