We could not confirm that a DeWalt drill and driver combo is still 38% off after Prime Day. The only evidence we found is a secondary article dated October 8, 2026, which reports a $149 price against an estimated $240 standard value. That article does not name the kit, and we could not confirm a live retailer offer. Treat the 38% figure as unverified until you check the listing yourself.
What the claim actually rests on
The headline comes from a Promer Media article in search results dated October 8, 2026. It reports two numbers:
- $149 as the deal price.
- About $240 as the estimated standard value.
Both figures are secondhand. The article does not show a retailer screenshot, a price history, or a model number, and the $240 is described as an estimate rather than a regular selling price that was checked against a retailer. The 38% discount is simply the arithmetic gap between those two numbers: ($240 − $149) ÷ $240 ≈ 37.9%. If the reference price is wrong, the percentage is wrong too.
Which DeWalt kit is the claim about?
The article’s title says “DeWalt 20V MAX cordless drill and impact driver combo set,” which describes a whole product category rather than one kit. DeWalt sells several drill and impact-driver combos, so the title alone does not identify the item.
#1 Best Overall
- Ergonomically Designed: Work in tight areas with a compact design that gets into tough spots
- Compact and Lightweight: Both tools are designed to fit into difficult to reach spaces. The 1/4" impact driver has a length of 5.55 in. and weighs just 2.8 lbs, while the 1/2" drill/driver measures only 7.5 in. and weighs 3.6 lbs
- Both the DEWALT impact driver and electric drill driver feature integrated LED work lights with a convenient 20-second delay, ensuring enhanced visibility in dimly lit or challenging work areas
- One-Handed Loading - Keep one hand free with a 1/4 in. hex chuck that accepts 1 in. bit tips
- Power drill cordless with 1/2" single sleeve ratcheting chuck provides tight bit gripping strength, making bit changes faster and more secure
The most likely candidate we could document is the DCK240C2, a 20V MAX 1.3Ah drill/driver and impact-driver kit that DeWalt’s own product page confirms exists. DeWalt’s catalog also lists other combos, including the DCK241C2 and the brushless ATOMIC DCK225D2. We did not verify the contents or prices of those kits, so we cannot say which one, if any, matches the $149 figure.
What DeWalt specifies for the DCK240C2

How to check whether the offer is live
Do this before you rely on any price or percentage, and note the time you checked, because promotional prices change quickly.
- Open the retailer listing from a search for the exact model number, DCK240C2, rather than the generic “DeWalt drill and impact driver combo” wording.
- Confirm the listing’s title, bundle contents, and model number match the DCK240C2 description above. If the listing shows a different kit, stop; the offer does not apply to this model.
- Record the current selling price, the seller (the retailer itself or a third-party marketplace seller), and whether the item is in stock.
- Look for a “list price,” “was” price, or reference price on the listing. If none is shown, the 38% figure has no retailer-stated baseline to measure against.
- Compare the current price with DeWalt’s own catalog listing and with at least one other retailer before deciding.
Why the 38% figure should not be repeated
Event-linked discounts often end when the sale period closes, and the article we found is a one-day snapshot of a price, not a record of how long it lasted. A headline that says a deal is “still” running needs a dated check of the live listing behind it. We found none. We also found no independent sales data, industry ranking, or buyer survey that would support broader claims about this kit’s popularity or value.

What you can say with confidence
- DeWalt’s DCK240C2 is a real combo kit with the contents and specifications listed above.
- A secondary article dated October 8, 2026 reports a $149 price and an estimated $240 reference value for an unnamed DeWalt 20V MAX combo.
- We could not verify that the price was live, which model it applied to, or that it was still available after Prime Day.
If you find the retailer listing with the DCK240C2 model number and a price that matches, the offer is worth evaluating on its own terms, using the specifications above and the warranty DeWalt states. If you cannot find that match, the 38% claim should not be used as a reason to buy.
