Some Samsung tablets have a flashlight, but not all of them. Whether yours does depends on whether its rear camera has an LED flash. Software can only switch on a light that the hardware already contains, so the quickest way to get a reliable answer is to check your exact model before you look for a control or install an app.
How the flashlight works on Samsung tablets
Samsung’s flashlight support guidance states that the feature uses the camera’s LED. On a tablet, that means the small light beside the rear camera is the only light the Flashlight control can use. If the tablet has no rear-camera LED, no setting or app can create one. The practical test is therefore hardware-first: confirm the LED flash in the specifications, then look for the control in the software.
Check whether your model has an LED flash
Samsung’s published specifications list LED flash as part of the rear camera description. The examples below show why a family name alone does not answer the question.

Two cautions apply to this table. The S7 FE answer comes from a community user thread, not from an official Samsung specification, so confirm it against the current product page for your exact model. The Galaxy Tab S11 entry shows only that Samsung’s support page links to a general flashlight article; that link is not evidence of model-specific hardware.

Camera megapixels do not indicate whether a flash exists. A high-resolution rear camera can still lack an LED, so look for the words “LED flash” or “flash” specifically.
Turn on the flashlight where it is supported
On a model that has the LED, Samsung Canada’s instructions describe this sequence:

- Swipe down from the top edge of the screen to open Quick Settings.
- If you do not see Flashlight, swipe within the Quick Settings panel. Samsung notes the icon may sit on another page.
- Tap the Flashlight icon to switch the LED on. Tap it again to switch it off.
Those directions come from Samsung’s guidance for devices sold in Canada. Menu labels, page layout, and availability can vary by model, software version, and carrier, so treat them as a starting point rather than a guaranteed path.

There is no Flashlight tile in Quick Settings
- Swipe through all Quick Settings pages before concluding the control is absent.
- Check the rear-camera specification for an LED flash. If the spec does not list one, the tablet likely has no flashlight hardware.
- Confirm you are reading the specification for your exact model, not a related model in the same series.
An app says no flashlight was found
A flashlight app only controls an existing LED. If the tablet lacks one, the app cannot create a light, and the message is accurate. The S7 FE thread records exactly this situation: a user looked for a torch and was told the model has no LED flash.

The instructions do not match your screen
Samsung’s steps reflect Canadian support content, and carrier-branded or older software may place the controls differently. Check your region and software version first, then search Quick Settings for the icon rather than following a fixed tap sequence.
You are choosing a tablet for flashlight use
Compare three things for each model: whether the rear camera lists an LED flash, whether the software exposes a Flashlight Quick Settings control, and whether the support directions match your region and software. Do not treat a Samsung-wide yes or no as an answer for every tablet. The examples above cover only the models named in the sources reviewed, not the full range of Samsung tablets.

Find your model before you ask for help
If you need a definitive answer, look up the exact model name or model code on the tablet’s label, or in Settings under About tablet. Include that code when you check the specification or ask in a community forum. Without it, a general answer about Samsung tablets cannot confirm whether your device has an LED.
