Yes—for the reviewer Rob Clymo, the Škoda Peaq proved comfortable and quiet on long motorway drives, with steering that made the large electric SUV feel more agile than expected. Its range also seemed attainable in ordinary driving. The qualification is the third row: Clymo found it confined for longer trips, so the Peaq makes its strongest case as a spacious five-seater with two occasional extra seats.
What was the Peaq like on a long motorway drive?
In his 4 October 2026 road test, Stuff journalist Rob Clymo reported little wind or tyre noise at motorway speeds and found the default ride comfortable. He also praised the steering, saying the Peaq felt agile in manoeuvres despite its size. These are his driving impressions, not results from an independent instrumented test. Clymo considered the standard rear-wheel-drive version adequate for the journey. The all-wheel-drive 90X adds grip, but his account does not establish that it is necessary for motorway travel. Choosing between them is therefore more about whether you value the additional traction than about a demonstrated comfort advantage.

How much range can you expect?
Clymo’s review gives UK range figures of 395 miles for the 90 and 373 miles for the 90X. He thought approaching those figures seemed achievable, but reported just over 3 miles per kWh when driving more enthusiastically. That is one reviewer’s assessment, not a standardized real-world range result; speed, weather, load and driving style affect what an owner will achieve.

Škoda’s current FAQ gives minimum ranges in kilometres, while its UK model page advertises up to 395 miles WLTP combined. These figures come from different market and specification contexts, so check the precise version offered in your market rather than treating them as interchangeable. Škoda UK advertises up to 395 miles WLTP combined for the Peaq; that is a market- and configuration-specific official figure, not a promise of the distance every driver will cover. Check the UK Peaq model page for the current local specification.

Why the 936 km record is not an everyday estimate
Škoda reported a supervised 936 km drive on one charge in a production Peaq 90, averaging 9.2 kWh/100 km. The car had a 91 kWh gross, 86 kWh net battery, and the company separately gives its homologated WLTP range as up to 647 km. The record route and driving style were selected to maximize range, and Škoda’s release says: “In everyday use, customers are unlikely to drive the car this way.” It should be read as a controlled range-record attempt, not a typical-trip forecast. Does the third row work for long trips?
The Peaq is offered as a five- or seven-seater. Clymo found the third row somewhat confined on longer journeys, which makes the seven-seat layout better suited to occasional extra passengers than to regular long-distance travel with a full cabin.

Škoda’s FAQ quotes 299 litres of boot space with all seven seats occupied, up to 890 litres with the third row folded, and 935 litres in the five-seat configuration. Those figures help explain the practical trade-off: carrying more people leaves less room for luggage, while the five-seat layout provides the most stated cargo capacity. Clymo says the Kia EV9 may suit households that regularly use all seven seats better. That is his judgment, not a controlled comparison between the vehicles. If you often take seven people on long journeys, passenger comfort in the rearmost seats should be a deciding factor; if you need those seats only occasionally, the Peaq’s quiet ride and five-seat practicality may matter more.
